Former Alma basketball standout Cejay Mann finished with 11 points today in Arkansas Tech's 64-59 overtime win over the University of the Ozarks. Mann led the team with 5 steals and 3 assists.
"Stan Flenor is Alma basketball," Alma AD Doug Loughridge said. "His face will be on this program for a long, long time. What Frank Vines is to football, Stan Flenor is to basketball."
Flenor's overall record is 457-348.
The Alma Lady Airedales have named Chanlee Bottoms an assistant basketball coach. Bottoms most recently worked with former Airedale standout Daryl Fimple at North Little Rock.

Alma senior Lydia Mann was emotional when telling her teammates Friday's game at Harrison was her final game. She's gritted it out through injuries for four years. She had 13 points in Alma's 70-49 loss to the Harrison Lady Goblins.

Alma senior Presli Taylor on the team's 45-44 OT win. Taylor finished her career as the school's all-time 3-point shooter. She has the single season mark as well.

Veteran Alma junior high coach Eddie Corder teaching, praising, breaking down, and building back up following Tuesday's 46-33 win over Greenwood Thursday.
New Alma girls basketball coach Chanlee Bottoms brings an impressive resume with her, which includes coaching with Louis Whorton, Daryl Fimple, and Elaine Lovato. Bottoms led Alma to the 2005 state title, where she was named MVP. That summer, she was MVP of the HS All-star game.
The Alma Airedales have named Dominic Lincoln its new boys basketball coach. Lincoln replaces Stan Flenor who retired last month after 31 seasons.

Alma WR Conner Stacy breaks the school record for receptions in a game (16) and tops it off with a record for receiving yards (223) in the team's 28-27 win over Heritage. He also sealed the win with a late interception.

Alma SR Conner Stacy had 157 yards receiving in last week's loss to Poteau, the 5th most in school history. The 8 receptions were also the 5th most for one game. Stacy is 139 yards shy of reaching the 1,000-yard plateau, an achievement just 5 players have done.

Junior Derek Hatcher leads the team in hitting with a blistering .448 average (.568 on-base). Hatcher anchors the infield at shortstop, though he can also play first base. His fielding percentage is .892.
Great game, Carson Curd. He had 20 points, including 3-4 from deep and 5-for-5 from the free throw line in Alma's 48-42 win at Farmington. He also had 6 rebounds and 2 steals. Alma 8th graders are 4-0 in conference play.

It's Official. Alma has hired longtime Charleston assistant coach Ryan Meyers as its new 7th-grade football coach. Meyers will assist with the JH teams. He is a Northside grad. Give him a follow!

Sophomore Branson Brogan is putting up big numbers in the No. 2 slot for the Airedales. Brogan is hitting .295 with a team-high 14 runs batted in. He's scored 11 runs (second to Caden Gifford) and has a .367 on-base percentage. Defensively, his fielding percentage is .946.
Very sad to report the passing of former Lady Airedale Teresa Rainwater. Teresa had a huge impact on the Alma sports community for a number of years. Her daughters, Britney and Cierra, were outstanding Alma players as well.
Junior Ian Rhodes caught 4 passes Friday for 76 yards and a TD in Alma's 41-13 blowout win over Clarksville. The Airedales travel to Farmington next Friday.

Alma coach Dominic Lincoln had a lot of high praise for his young Airedales following Friday's big fourth quarter comeback. Down 39-29 after 3, Alma outscored the Russellville Cyclones 25-7 in the fourth quarter.
Titus Benson 79 yards rushing and 3 TDs on the ground and 166 yards passing and another TD as the Airedale 7th graders trounced Van Buren, 34-0. Benson also had 5 tackles.

Stacy's 87-yard receiving TD is the 3rd longest in school history.
