I lost my mom what feels like a lifetime ago - 11 years, almost 12. She told me to forever spend her Motherβs Day gift money on cards celebrating the amazing moms in my life. Every year a few stacks of these go in the mail to friends and it always takes away the sting. β€οΈ
About 14 years ago I was a Jane Doe too. I watched today closely - I am so glad to see a court result that shows progress in our country. Today is a win for all of us that wanted to hear the world guilty and did not. Love to

Unless it is essential, not one NL employer needs to force their employees into an office this week during a brutal phase of a global pandemic hitting hard during the holidays.
@EasternHealthNL
having watched a parent basically starve to death with an end of life cancerβ¦ some snacks she could eat are now βbannedβ foods. Your regressive policy hurts those with lower incomes, palliative patients and eating disorders.
Practising Catholics: ask your parish hard questions, stop renting church owned space for events and cancel donations until thereβs a real apology and action. Economic pushback seems to be the only way the Roman Catholic Church is responsive these days.

My dad suffered a brain injury a few years ago. Heβs an artist but sometimes hard to enjoy his work in the same way with his vision loss-

Big thank you to
@RNC_PoliceNL

Almost 20 years later, how thankful am I for retired Constables Bruce Mesh, Hal Stanley and Sgt. Jeff Mackey. Great men who sat with me, talked with me and made me feel believed at every turn. I hope every survivor has this experience as they go forward.
More survivors come forward, leading to further sexual violence charges related to an ongoing investigation on the Northeast Avalon.

Well known Canadian PR advisor and womenβs coach is posting to her Instagram that this weekend the convoy is really about love and freedom. Asked her how she felt about the swastika on the flag - she deleted me. Hate and Nazi protectionism lives in corners youβd least expect.
Time for a province wide, fully paid k-12 school lunch program for students and staff. No shortage of culinary talent to get creative on local sourcing and menus.
Last October, about 800 families were unable to pay the $ 4-a-day school lunch program fee. Last month, that figure rose to 2,100. People are struggling. And the

The worldβs most profitable companies arenβt running back to their offices until 2021 at earliest. Surprised at why so many Atlantic Canadian offices are rushing back to 9-5 life when there is an active pandemic and most can work from home safely.

Itβs Dr. Allison Furey, an accomplished physician (especially for kids and youth) who has travelled around the world to provide care to those in need. Of note: many, many pro Bono, likely used her own vacation trips to Haiti since the earthquake a decade ago.

Without her kindness, my path would have been much harder.
Please give what you can to your local Sexual Assault Crisis Line. They do incredible work.
There are 15,000

Suspect there are a lot of women and girls impacted by the latest news of sexual violence in Newfoundland and Labrador: for every reported sexual assault, many others go unreported. A small donation to
@NLSACPC
goes a long way to ensure all survivors have the support they need.
Like to think we all can play a part in combatting hate, violence and misinformation by correcting those in our own circles when they post fake news and distribute right wing conspiracies. More division? Maybe⦠but letting it spiral without a pushback leads to darker places.
Totally on side with private businesses disclosing possible covid exposure on site as soon as they know... as in the case of the funeral home cluster - it could save a life.
22-23 year old me called the sexual assault crisis line quite a few times after I was attacked by someone known to me. A volunteer named Ashley took my first call - Iβll never forget her and am so thankful to see this news. My 2nd chance at life after that violence was secured byβ¦
