77 years ago today, Lena Baker, a maid was executed by State of GA in 1945 for killing her employer, Ernest Knight. He imprisoned and threatened to shoot her should she try to leave. She took his gun and shot him. Baker was the only woman to be executed by electrocution in GA.

59 years ago today, Fannie Lou Hamer and other activists were brutally beaten and arrested in Winona, MS for traveling in the "white" section of a Greyhound bus and sitting at the lunch counter in the terminal. She lost vision in an eye and suffered permanent kidney damage.

Friday May 13, 1836 two house slaves Ruth and Mae poisoned their masters in Central Fla by grinding broken glass and mixing it in their master's food. They then gathered the field slaves burned the plantation and took over another a few miles down the road. Happy Friday the 13th!

52 Years ago today, 17 year old Jonathan Jackson was murdered after he entered the Marin County Courthouse armed, planning to liberate the Soledad Brothers. He left with William Christmas, Ruchell Magee and James McClain. They took the judge, the DA and a court reporter hostage.

#SandraBland would have been 37 years old today instead she was brutally attacked by police after she was pulled over for a “minor traffic violation”. She was later found dead in a Waller County Jail Cell. * 4 other women were found dead in cells within two weeks of her murder.

17 years ago today, NYPD fired 50 shots into a van killing Sean Bell on the morning before his wedding and severely wounding two of his friends. They were just leaving his bachelor party when police targeted them. No one in the van was armed nor were any crimes committed.

Today marks the 133rd commemoration of the Wounded Knee Massacre. December 29, 1890, hundreds of Lakota people were shot by the US 7th Cavalry at Wounded Knee Creek in SD. After the blood bath, natives lie dead in the snow, frozen for 3 days, until being buried in a mass grave.

Never forget 22 year-old Oscar Grant who was murdered by police in Oakland, CA New Year’s Day 2009 at Fruitvale Station. I will also never forget my neighborhood friend, 19 year-old Anthony Villanueva, murdered by police 11:57 pm New Year's Eve 1997 in Bridgeport, CT.

7 years ago -28 year old #Sandrabland was brutally attacked by State Trooper Brian Encina after she was pulled over for a “minor traffic violation”. She was later found dead in a Waller County Jail Cell. 4 other women were found dead in cells within two weeks of her murder.
