The crew at Buffalo Niagara Int’l airport have been working tirelessly to keep this runway clear. They have something called the #snowmelter which can melt 135 tons of snow per hour. 50 million BTU! ⁦ @weatherchannel ⁩

INCREDIBLE precipitation for the west coast. Big problem here is California had one of the largest wildfire outbreaks in 2020 which means flooding is likely in all those burn scars. The good news is this will drastically help the drought.

Idalia went from a Category 1 Hurricane to a Category 4 Hurricane in 24 hours from August 29 (5am) to August 30 (5am). Rapid Intensification is a 35 mph increase in 24 hours. This period had a 55 mph increase in the 24 hours.

Scary situation for SE Alaska....Juneau picked up 4.93" of rain which crushed the daily record of 1.44"set back in 97'. Juneau averages 6.09" of rain in Dec. That means they saw 80% of their monthly (Dec) rain in 24 hrs. It's also their 2nd rainiest day ever record. @wxmattjones
