I wanted to say a lot more, so I did!
Post Worlds Thoughts: Emotionally Validating (very long)
TL;DR
I, John Nolan, a Reddit Mod from Ireland, adminned the Rocket League World Championship. No one can EVER take that away from me and it feels amazing 🥹
I will say so much more when I get back to a PC but genuinely, as a worker in the esport, as a fan of the esport, as a person just getting to see so many various cool people who actually fuck with me, this very well might be the best experience of my entire life
dreams came true
He broke out in RLCSX w/ Yanxnz, but Furia took him away
He qualified for Sweden w/ Math, but Secret took him away
He rebuilt w/ Lostt to dominate SAM, but Furia eliminated him from Spring/Worlds & took Lostt
He rebuilds AGAIN, eliminates Furia and is now SAM 1
Inspirational
Serious question
How are the community resources, the subreddit, Liquipedia, Shift etc. How are they meant to reasonably provide coverage for all 7 RLCS regions playing their regional events simultaneously?
The RLCS 2024 Season is finally here and starts with Open Qualifier 1 on January 26! We’re increasing open competition, focusing on long-term sustainability, and widening prizing for more players than ever before. Registration opens next week.

Having played Battle Cars since 2010 and RL since launch in July 2015, actually getting in-game validation for contributions to the community I've dedicated over half my life to (basically my entire adult life too) may have brought me to tears😭
Thank you
@RLEsports
@AliasFailed
I get NA is going through a great reset and stuff is crazy, but just cos GenG+V1/G2 are so stacked doesnt mean every other NA team has to kneecap themselves
- Col? Downgrading
- SSG? If it's Jstn or Aris, downgrading
- Rumored Dig/M80? Mid
Only SR inspires optimism below the top
After pondering it for 7 weeks since worlds ended, yesterday I posted my updated all-time GOAT list to reddit (ordered within tiers).
After having it called "worthless, laughable and invalid", I have decided I am masochistic and will share it on the superior discussion platform!
With the
#RLCS
major teams locked in for both North America and Europe, I find this quite interesting:
For the first time ever at an RLCS LAN, USA won't be the sole most represented country in terms of starting players, as France will match them by sending 8 players to Sweden!
Before this season, in 6 years of
#RLCS
history, only 1 player had ever won RLCS regional events in multiple regions, that being Turbopolsa 🐐
At the conclusion of RLCS 22/23, that list will now include:
- Kamii
- Noly
- ApparentlyJack
- Reysbull
- AJG
- Caard
- Yanxnz
- Lostt
Is there a defined list of all notable KBM players? Off the top of my head, I've got the following
- Drufinho
- Sad
- Torsos
- KNS
- Davitrox
- Yukeo
- Stake
- Parka
- LCT
- Elexit
- Impressive
- Zenulous
and historically, fruity, renan & Decka too, any others I'm not aware of?
Would have preferred it at worlds (or just as a straight up 3v3), but as someone who gladly states that RLCS X South America was his favorite season of all time as a fan, this has been long overdue :')
Respectfully, goofy poll results. Look at the other POVs to see the speed at which the Psycho flew into the net (and for Ian's smart bump as well). Actually unstoppable.
I am pleased to say I've been brought back to the RLCS admin team for EU + MENA
While this off-season has been tough for many, I'll be damned if we don't all ultimately want to help make this esport that we all adore thrive
Forever thankful I can do this, time to get to work 🫡
Anyone who knows me knows I take immense pride in my work, volunteer & professional
Therefore, it brings me great pleasure to formally reveal I will be a Match Admin at the 2023 Rocket League World Championship😊
2 years of LANs have led to this for me, time to finish the story
Fairy Peak joins an exclusive club of people who have won RLCS events both as a player and a coach. This list includes:
- Fireburner (NRG + V1)
- Allushin (FaZe + GenG)
- OSM (Gladiators both times)
- Markydooda (F3 + Gladiators)
- Ferra (REC + VIT & KC)
I cant be the only one who takes issue with this
You've 2 of the most popular pros (2300+ last season) and one of the most popular RL content creators (had to get boosted to 2K), all 3 with big influence over a young impressionable RL fans, openly partaking in boosting
Just me?
By my reckoning, Crr will be the first ever player to have competed in 3 different RLCS regions.
And given the new rules with regions defined by server not geolocation, Crr doing so by physically being in each region may not be matched for a very long time.
I believe Torsos is now the only player to win RLCS regionals in 7 unique calendar years
2017: S3+4
2018: S5
2019: S7+8
2020: RLCS X Fall 1
2021: 5 regionals/online majors + RLCS X Champs
2022: 3 more regionals
And now 2023, eclipsing GarrettG's 6 years of NA wins from 2017-2022
With Pioneers taking game 1 vs Dignitas, every team playing at an
#RLCS
LAN has won a game for the first time since the S6 World Championship in 2018.
There are no bad teams yo
The following players did not compete in the most recent RLCS Spring Split in SAM, but will be competing in the first South American Qualifiers in 2024
- Reysbull
- Crr
- Dorito
- AJG
- Yanxnz
- Lostt
- Caard
- CaioTG1
- Swiftt
- Diaz
I am glad to announce that I will be the Assistant Head Admin for Europe for the upcoming
#RLCS
Season!
From day 1 of the open qualifiers all the way to the regional grand finals, I'm more excited than ever to help and follow Europe's elite on their road back to LAN 😄.

I am glad to announce I have been chosen to be an admin for
#RLCSX
I am honored to help play a role behind the scenes in ensuring this will be the best RLCS season yet.
To anyone who's ever given me an opportunity in
@RLEsports
, thank you, I will not let you down.
It brings me great pleausre to announce that I'll be returning to the
#RLCS
staff team for the 22-23 season, again as EU Assistant Head Admin 🫡
Much love to
@AliasFailed
& the
@RLEsports
family, its a blessed problem to try not repeat myself with these tweets word for word ❤️
I am happy to announce that I will be travelling to London for the
#RLCS
Spring Major as a match admin.
LANdon is a very high bar to live up to, so I am determined to do my part to make my last RLCS event of the season the best one yet.
Hopefully will see you all there 🥰
When your Francophone community is willing to spend a weekend speaking (mostly) broken English and be beyond accommodating towards an Irish guy with miserable French, it's safe to say what
@RocketBaguette
has is truly special.
Incredible people just everywhere 🥰
#UrbanSeries
Ladies and gentlemen, the biggest upset in
#RLCS
history.
- Verdy had never lost to DeToNator
- Verdy had come first in every major APAC event bar 1
- DeToNator didn't even qualify for this event, only got here via a wildcard
This esport across the globe is just incredible
AGAINST ALL ODDS,
@DeToNator_GG
QUALIFIES FOR THE
#RLCS
WINTER MAJOR! 🎉
With a Lower Bracket run after not even qualifying for today's APAC Qualifier in the first place,
@mikanRL_
,
@OlpixRL
, and
@BurnRL_
are going to Los Angeles!
Remember when 2 years ago to the day, these guys finally arrived on the LAN stage and became one of the greatest teams of all time?
Who woulda thought then that it would end up being their one final great showing?

And this is what's next!
I am glad to announce I will be travelling to Stockholm as the Assistant Head Admin for the
#RLCS
Fall Major.
Thanks to
@AliasFailed
&
@RLEsports
for making a dream come true ♥️
Tbh, I'm so happy I get to meet some friends again after nearly 2 years 😭
Had an absolute blast adminning for the EU
#RLCS
this split.
Whether it was qualifiers or main event, wonderful games and people across the board, (and many many more behind the scenes).
Looking forward to what's next :D
I was a part of the committee for the 2023 Top 20 players list
I & multiple other committee members submitted 3x Top 30 lists over the year, one for Winter, one for Spring, and one for Worlds
Below is the approx aggregate of my lists and thus, my overall Top 20 players for 2023
And with that, the best week of my life + my last adminned
#RLCS
event of the season is now over
9 Open Qualifiers + Main Events
2 Tiebreakers
2 unforgettable LANs 🇸🇪 🇬🇧
159 series
716 games
1 incredible season
Thx to EVERYONE who has supported me in the
@RLEsports
family ♥️
Hi
@rocketleague
@PsyonixStudios
, Im in streaming playing ranked and one of my viewer snip me and instant DDOS the server, i just lost 20 points, can i get it back and can you ban them right now ?
I got the clip if you want it, thanks.
Waiting for your response, be fast 🫡
I have waited for this day for a long time..
It's game day from the
#RLCS
World Championship, in Europe for the first time since 2019.
Time to put on the best Rocket League LAN ever
The meltdown in the replies is absolutely glorious
Someone who MISSED A MAJOR DURING NA' WORST SPLIT EVER and was on the worst main event team at WC isn't gonna get ranked high even with an incredible Winter
Ability =/= performance, GenG will cook next szn but his 2023 was poor
Top 20 Players of 2023: Firstkiller (

Gen.G's newest recruit comes in at 19th on our list, with his performances during the Winter Split standing out among mixed results over the year.
It wouldn't be an RLEsports off-season without a conflict of interest in one of its bigger events!!
And you know me pointing this out is gonna ruffle some feathers because this community does not understand nor care despite the obvious competitive integrity risk
T1 esport btw!!
The Bracket is set!🔒
Here are the matchups for our 10k NA invitational in support of

So you mean to tell me that the only big EU event of the off-season, has its 4-team 50K LAN finals determined entirely through an 8-team single elimination bracket? Something that is entirely matchup/seeding dependent despite half the invites having 0 results?
Make it make sense
The 12 year old me who got given SARPBC by his cousin would never belive that that game's sequel would give him purpose in life to do good
But Rocket League is incredible, and so are all the people who make it thrive
To EVERYONE, thanks for letting me be a part of the family❤
Getting recognized in game in Rocket League for my various contributions in the community is already humbling enough, but getting asked for a steam sign today is a new level of surreal.
- KRU's cinderella run
- Falcons' return to form
- Vitality's new generation
- Liquid's continued excellence
- Complexity being my heros 😍
- A guy from Block Block winning an
#RLCS
LAN
- A guy from Morocco winning an RLCS LAN
- A GOAT winning a 2nd RLCS LAN
What a weekend, GGs
Change is scary but when 1 door closes, another opens
This past week, I got to experience an RLCS LAN with a wonderful crew I could have never imagined a year ago
A truly special vibe with its roots in the EU Open Qualifiers, Goddamn we ran an awesome Major, here's to many more
Hi, I'm John Nolan, a freelance esports admin looking for work (especially after July this year)
My 5 years of experience include a variety of match + head admin roles, facilitating 1000+ team online brackets and working Tournament Ops on major RLCS productions with Blast & ESL
@LiquipediaRL
@RLEsports
Nothing but love to the SSG guys, but after 2 years of online Rocket League, this was a very fitting end to the online-only era in the most beautiful way possible :')
The outpouring of happiness and support for some guys from Argentina + Chile will always be a fond memory for me
After a wonderful 12+ year life, having had just one eye and surviving scares of pneumonia and blood clots, my cat Tangerine's time on earth came to a peaceful end last night. He spent his final hours cuddled up with family for one last time.
Rest in Paradise my best friend ❤
Regardless of what you think of G8 or the crew battles format, this is a fact:
A South American team has won the biggest prize pool LAN in ROCKET LEAGUE ESPORTS HISTORY.
🥲
With Garrett, Jstn & Squishy all officially going their separate ways (full disband), the last continuous roster lineage from 2016, from the pre-RLCS era when NRG was the Kings of Urban, is officially no more
New longest lineage is current G2 (V1, S4 C9) or Vitality (S4 Mock-it)
Very sad day today. Significant portion of my daily life for 6 whole years involved being around you, it feels like we grew up together. Appreciate everything you did for me as a competitor and as a friend. Best of luck in the future, you will always be that guy ♥️
@Its_JSTN
1 point.
It's no tiebreaker bracket but holy crap SAM did not disappoint.
@Gibbs0o0
's great innovation to build in a tiebreaker into the points system with event wins finally pays off!
The legends
@RocketStreet
deserve a ton of love for their coverage of MENA & SAM last weekend, providing a central stream for those regions' fans to watch the
#RLCS
10+ hour streams, some with just 1 dude talking often in a 2nd language, don't let their good work go unnoticed👏
- Players get a very supportive org.
- REC gets a championship caliber team.
- RLesports fan get an org that puts out great content.
- I get a team I can buy merch for and comfort in the fact my favorite players are once again signed.
This is the best timeline
- iBuyPower Cosmic
- Flipsid3 Tactics
- Northern Gaming
- Galeforce Esports
- Dignitas
- Cloud9
- Team Vitality
- NRG
- Team BDS
And today, the ultimate symbol of Rocket League excellence will be awarded, as a 10th
#RLCS
World Champion is crowned
Time to witness history 🤙
About to board a flight to Denmark ahead of adminning RLCS24 Major 1. Especially this season, it is not lost on me the privilege I have to travel because of RL
The first LAN in 7months, a new era of RLEsports w/ Blast and a great week with greater people, fun times await
🇮🇪✈🇩🇰
For comparison, Collegiate RL in NA gets $50,000 per season, most of the players competing arent even GC.
OCE RL gets the same amount PER SEASON despite not even a year ago have a top 4 team in the fucking world.
NA & EU prize pools are fine, put that Epic money to good use 🙏
For the past few seasons, OCE has received less prize money than the RLRS. NA/EU RLCS receive more than 4x the amount and LAST place in those regions receive more than the OCE Champions.
If you want to take our region seriously we need more reward for effort. Help us
@RLEsports
The Reciprocity trio of Ferra, Chausette and Fruity becomes only the 2nd EU trio to make 3 consecutive LANs. The other team? Gale Force/Dignitas from seasons 4-6
#RLCS
And also the first EU team to top league play without Kaydop on the roster since S3
@ApparentlyJxck
No format can account for your world champions getting taken to 5 games by the 16 seed, and then getting reverse swept by the 6rh seed, thus producing weird brackets and matchups
Yesterday was my cousin's confirmation meaning for the first time in 5 years, I actually had to dress somewhat smart.
And to my sheer bewilderment, I actually feel I looked kinda nice with it!
Seeing a lot of replies upset or confused at the caliber of teams being invited for a "bubble tournament" but if Im being honest, this is the way forward
The best "bubble tournaments" are actually just proper big events with adequate qualifiers/opportunities for bubble teams 1/?
@DrKzx0
Seikoo's career is three times as long as Zen's rn. Longevity matters, and 1 split of RLCS while incredible, can only go so high, while Seikoo has had 2 successful seasons.
With time and him likely staying good, Zen and Radosin will move up very high with their 2 RLCS LAN wins
My calendar for the rest of 2023 and beyond is free, so I am seeking work as a freelance TO/esports admin
I have over 4 years of experience, recent notable events include:
2023 RLCS World Championship: Match Admin
Rising Stars Odyssey: Head Admin
RLCS EU: Assistant Head Admin
Nearly 2 year old meme I made on reddit still as relevant as ever.
Who woulda thunk the 2nd seed losing to the 9th seed and going 5 games with the 14th seed, among other various upsets, would create weird brackets 😮
(or the fact there are 9 major caliber teams in NA now 🤷)
Wow.
Thanks to Psyonix, ESL, and particularly
@AliasFailed
for having faith in me, my fellow admins, both in the admin room and on stage for being exemplary as always.
Shoutout to all the player managers, production, and all the other IT people for making admin life stress free
The entire staff team and all the players at the
#RLCS
major have put in nearly 2 years of work to make this a reality. Super proud of the team here.
2 whole seasons, multiple format changes, new players, new casters and even new regions, its all led to this.
It's showtime :D
@KEEMSTAR
never knew t8 @ world championship player and Gfinity caster = low clout, TIL
Also having FN streamers who've never touched the game/would be bronze players isnt fun to watch, RL isnt as pick up and play as FN
$100,000 for 1s jesus fudging christ
That's already more than an entire expansion region's RLCS prize pool per split, but then you remember it's only 1 player competing not 3, and well, this prize pool is comparable to an RLCS major...
Mad
For all my time helping out the Irish community and seeing all the potential talent in its scene, all I have ever wanted is to see is those talented people apply themselves.
It may only be collegiate but this year, 3 lads have truly done just that

THE IRISH ARE INDEED BUILT DIFFERENT!
@SETUesports
are ruthless in this last game and secure their ticket to the CRL World Championship with a beautiful 4-2 victory!
People who have been RL Esports fans for a long time, here's something to make you think.
What are some examples of revisionist history in RLEsports?
Things/topics that had an agreed-upon general consensus at the time yet despite no new data, have been redefined by modern fans
Over the years, the RLesports circus has taken me many places, from Leipzig to Valencia, Stockholm to London.
Today, after an absurdly long travel day, it'll take me across the Atlantic for the first time ever, as we'll crown an
#RLCS
World Champion!
See you on the other side✌
Regardless of how shitty someone is, every time I see it I just can't imagine actively celebrating someone dying
No one has to forgive, you can detest people to their core, but still, such glee just comes across as unnecessarily vengeful in multiple cases
I don't understand it
taken from the rlcs liquipedia page, whats the point of having a bracket if half the groups cant play each other until the grand finals.
Its basically having 2 mini tournaments and making the winners of each play each other, it makes no sense
#RLCS
@NickOnRL
Cmon Nick you know if there was any legitimate concern about any admin abusing their powers, they wouldn't be within a country mile of the job, that's poor
There's a healthy level of skepticism, and then there's you being malicious on socials cos I dont rate your rumored players
🚨🚨Bo7 reverse sweep🚨🚨
