This is actually just funny because St Louis had gotten such a reputation as a uniquely great baseball town when in reality they just hadn't been below .500 in like 20 years and the moment they got bad they look like any other fanbase
You don't get to claim you're such a uniquely excellent fanbase when you ditch the team the moment they get bad (they won their division just 2 years ago!). Nebraska football fans are special. Sacramento kings fans are special. St Louis cardinal fans are not
And I'm serious btw. From 2000-2022 they were below .500 exactly once. Went to the playoffs 16 times, won the division 11 times, and won 2 world series. No kidding they sold out and got awesome local ratings lol
After last year a 22 year old cardinals fan had been alive for the same number of world series' as losing seasons. Assuming they finish below .500 this year they will now have more losing seasons than chips since the turn of th3 century. Few fanbases deserve less than them lmao
@MichaelBombardo
@KingdomeTurf
We should think of a name for fans who don't wanna show up when the weather isn't nice. Perhaps something like "fans who only come when the weather is fair" or something
Ill say again, whatever is going on with Joe D not coming to Pistons stuff gotta end. Like I wont pretend to know whatever politics it is. But hes been integral to all 3 championships. Its awful that he has basically no relationship with the team now.
Btw, I am very behind
@AndreDrummond
backing Stanley Johnson and also talking shit about how he's better than Al Horford. Drummond has routinely owned the Celtics so he can say whatever he wants to them as far as I'm concerned.
*taps mic*
This is on right?
*Taps again*
They can hear me in Philly?
*Smacks mic gratuitously a few times*
THE RAPTORS DIDNT EVER TANK AND PUT THE BEST TEAM THEY COULD ON THE FLOOR EVERY YEAR
After watching every shot Cade Cunningham took this season, I have decided that he has a little bit of Carmelo in his game. In a good way. His athleticism doesn't jump out but he's huge, physical, and can hit shots from anywhere and any angle.
The Pistons and Cade Cunningham have been trying to determine if surgery is needed to treat Cunningham's troublesome left shin, league sources say.
After a strong start to his second season, Cunningham missed Detroit's last five games.
More NBA from me:
@Spartyshawn
Wow that kinda sounds like the sort of thing "The Crown Jewel of the National League" would be able to tough out because they are just such a unique and incredible fanbase
Andre Drummond total NBA ranks.
1st in minutes
1st in rebounds
1st in blocks
3rd in Steals
6th (!!) in points
8th in win shares
7th in VORP
It's a little skewed cause the Pistons have already played 7 games (no other team has 7. Many still on 5) but man.
I know he flamed out cause of off-court stuff but I'd rather have Ty Lawson than Collison, Rubio or Matthews. It's easy to forget but there was a 5 year stretch where Lawson was REALLY good.
@lawgirl47
I wouldn't sit in that but on the other hand I didn't spend the last 20 years insisting that I'm better than you by telling you I would totally sit in that if it happened
Jaden Ivey does not deserve to win ROY but at this point I think theres a very solid argument that as of now he's the guy from this class I would take 1st.
Cade isn't the problem.
Its Killian
Its Ausar
Its Stew
Its Bagley
Its literally all of the guys who defenses completely ignore possession after possession. Cade looks like he's forcing things because he is. Because if he doesn't force it nothing will happen.
@JLEdwardsIII
Especially when Gobert only got emotional when he talked about how his Mom was sad he didnt make it. Like if your Mom being sad for you aint make you sad you prolly got some issues to work through
Quick list of things that stand out as being DIFFERENT
1. Jalen Duren may be a superstar right now
2. Turns out having good coaching matters
3. Cade is exactly the sort of tough shot-maker/creator that can help a defense-first lineup plow thru just enough offense to get by
Bill Simmons swooning over Isaiah Stewart while also saying nothing he actually does other than be tough and scary is exactly the problem with Isaiah Stewart lol
Going to start responding to my wife as tho I'm Troy Weaver from now on.
"I'm going to be aggressive in remodeling the kitchen. Does that mean I'm going to start on something now? Idk but we will be aggressive"
The thing that's cool about Cade is we don't need to worry about how a draft pick will fit because literally anyone at the top of the draft will fit with Cade and that's actually the secret of why he's comfortably the best guy in his class. Easiest guy to build around by far
The hope os Drummonds legacy in Detroit ends up being something akin to Grant Hill.
The one good player on a shit-show era for the team, but one that had to move on for the team to reach true contention.
Small sample size obviously but the Griffin/Drummond duo continued to work in this series. In 37 minutes the Pistons were +11.4 per 100 possessions with them on the floor together. This is particularly impressive when you consider that each game was a blowout.
There's also a deep irony to the fact that Bagley made some genuine improvements to his game this year so that he was one of the few guys who was something close to a bright spot on the team lol
Michael Jordan didn't "overcome" the Bad Boys because he started working so hard the Bad Boys got old and that's a fact no matter where he was in his career the prime Bad Boys woulda kept kicking his degenerate gambler ass up and down the court.
I don't want to over react but the last couple of weeks Duren has shown some shit that's wild. Passes, footwork in the post, touch around the hoop. You could make an argument he's the best prospect on the team.
It's actually incredible he used Laimbeer and a pretty clear example that he didn't think on this much. Laimbeer was almost the OG stretch big. He would almost certainly be better today than he was then lol
Cant wait for next week when we get to hear about how the Bad Boys were just a bunch of prick thugs holding down our protagonist MJ because MJ owns the media.
No one could have seen Sekou Doumbouya be this good this soon. He was so rawโjumper, handle, effort. Yet he's already excelling in those areas as a Pistons rookie. Looks like a young Siakam. Itโs a testament to Sekouโs work ethic to improve so much in such a short amount of time.
I had the wildest dream that I watched one of the worst Pistons seasons ever only to get the 5th pick wild man what a nightmare anyways when's the lottery tonigh?
If people are wondering how this team's ceiling goes from "maybe we can win 30 games and be fun" to "we are in the playoffs" Your 19-year-old center playing at a borderline All-NBA level is how
Honestly I think at this Point the Pistons should just tell Killian to try and be Bruce Brown. Kills defense is legit, and even if he's never a good shooter he might be capable spotting up in the corner occasionally. Clearly has good hoops IQ as a cutter/passer
After missing 10 games to start the season, Detroit Pistons forward Blake Griffin plans to make his season-debut against Minnesota on Monday, league sources tell ESPN.
Also a reminder that Isiah Thomas just suggested that Christian Wood is usable as a 3 so a good reminder that being a great player doesnt mean anything for your ability to analyze the game.
I will put no stop to the Ausar Thompson hype train but please stop comparing Sasser to Maxey I can't handle one more player who people decide is disappointing because they put absurd expectations on him
