MSNBC's Katy Tur: "Based on where Americans stand on the issues, Americans have really moved in a much more progressive direction over the years. Do you think it’s appropriate to continue to take such a strict originalist view of the Constitution given it’s 2018 and not 1776?”

@JoeConchaTV A fair question to ask. On one hand, we want to retain the brilliance of the founders; and, on the other, we don't want legislation from the bench; however, the job of the Congress is to create laws; the job of the Judiciary is to interpret them in framework of the constitution

@JoeConchaTV That basically tells you everything that you want to know and everywhere this party wants to go. The reason we are the most prosperous and successful nation in the history of civilization is because of our laws. Once they go by the wayside we are like everyone else. Common #KAG

@JoeConchaTV Isn’t this why the Constitution has a whole section about how to AMEND the Constitution? Or did Katy not read that far?

@JoeConchaTV The Constitution, itself, has provisions to change it. They’re called “Amendments”. Look it up, #Stoopid

@JoeConchaTV Thats is precisely how you interpret law -- strictly as written. There is no other proper way to do so.
