Since my brother died last fall I've been thinking a lot more about family legacy.
One piece of legacy I've specifically ignored is the family business my parents started when I was 6.
It's a "little" health food store in my home town of Sandpoint, ID called Winter Ridge.…
@danielpatricio
Haha that's awesome. Did that have any impact on you launching Bull and Cleaver?
I have very fond memories of playing hide and seek in the aisles late at night when my dad was working late. Great way to grow up in many ways.

Yeah man. They risked everything to start a store. Were on food stamps and medicaid just a couple years before. We basically grew up in that place.

Come from a family biz. This totally resonates. Important to remember what made you and how proud of you are of that! Thanks for sharing.

This is wild - you came up in my feed as we follow similar people/interests. Anyway I am from Sandpoint (born & raised).
No better spot than Sandpoint to leave a legacy and “buy back” time. Great post!

Doesn’t have to be mutually exclusive. You can hire a GM to run the day to day while you just focus on higher level stuff, leaving you the time to build your own thing.
