Utoni Nujoma assaulted me at that Swapo party presser, I confronted him loudly.
The entire room just watched.
I leaned in to get a good shot of the Swapo SG and came bit close to him, he grabbed and angrily pushed me.
Just over 80% of our Grde 11's failed. If this is not a crisis then I dont know. If. 1.6million Namibians are in poverty how can a 17 year old afford (VTC) or start a business.
The worst is that this govt distances itself from this their mess of education.
Telling poor people to "Consult your doctor before taking the vaccine" is such a classist approach. How many Namibians have acess to healthcare, let alone decent healthcare which includes the PRIVILEGE to "consult" a doctor?
I 👀 you're a CA-🇳🇦 is littered with CA's, many unemployed and yet you, a non-Namibian, managed to land a job within 10 months. What are you saying? Namibians are incompetent? That is the attitude of most Zimbabweans I've encountered."We're God's gift to the🌏".
@nykCh121518
Why I left Namibia
1. I was happy to get a job in Namibia in 2020. It's close to Zimbabwe. However, I lasted only 10 months before relocating to UK.
Namibia is friendly and peaceful. Windhoek city is clean & quiet. It has modern malls. Wide and modern roads etc.
@ShadowsOfWolf_
Safe space I get, but they often fail to reciprocate/appreciate that safe space with politeness. In most cases they would fall over their feet to assist white rude customers but treat their black counterparts poorer.
Olivier told the court that there is an amount of us$63million stationed in a bank account in Kazakstan. This is under investigation. More than a billion in Nam dollars.
Im told Jessica couldnt hear "we are live" because she didn't have an earpiece to communicate with the the camera director.
The recent NBC strike was partly because of a lack of equipment.
Tamson Hatuikulupi has 22 title deeds which includes a N$4.5 million house on Langstrand. (It all started out with the sound of music from a jukebox in Gobabis) .
Giving a child an absent father's surname is part of our toxic patriarchal culture which goes out of its way to place men above women. Imagine going around with a surname of a man who want nothing to do with you, which is the case in most instances in this country.
Using the WAP song was a brilliant part of the protest. We want to own and celebrate our bodies. Whether we want to do so naked or halfnaked and twerking , should not be an issue.
One of the reasons we cannot decisively deal with corruption in Namibia, is because Namibians don't speak with food in their mouth. They don't complain about the cook when they are near the pots and certainly don't dare say a word when the head of the house blessed the food.
Elma Dienda, member of parliament for PDM this afternoon questioned the HIV test requirement for those applying to join the NDF. "If we are saying we must test our youth, then we must start by testing our members of parliament also."
It would be very unfair & incorrect to brand Dr. Haufiku a cry-baby for pointing out the holes in government's Covid-19 response. He has from the start presented a plan 2 deal with Covid-19, a plan that would have certainly prevented this catastrophe and perhaps even deaths.
Amushelelo said the white Apartheid government respected people's dignity by building toilets, now the Namibian government expect Namibians to relieve themselves in plastic bags.
Formalities will kill the youth. Imagine, taking your grandmother's pension, traveling from the village to attend an interview that is already decided.
Olivier tells the court that they recovered James Hatuikulupi's phone after his arrest and established that he contacted Samherji, to cover his tracks, asking them to say these payments were made to Angola and not Tundavala.
The way Namibians showed up for Jennifer Comalie was impressive.
I hope you would show up for every injustice in this country and not only when it is one of your own
Acoording to Olivier, on 11 September 2012, Sacky Shangala then LRDC chair, wrote a letter to himself, on behalf of former fisheries minister Bernhard Esau.
We need to immediately stop treating the San as souvenirs. They are a terribly marginalised people that needs to be uplifted not photographed to enrich OUR social media feeds.
We have a Junior Councillor in the house. 😭😭😭💕
She didn’t want a photo, but I wasn’t 2 days in labour for her to decide what she wants at age 15.
Today,Heavenly Father, as I place my child in your mighty, loving hands, give me peace, knowing that you are right by her side.
Olivier said a N$15 million& N$2.5 million was paid into Sisa Namandje's T/account under grn objectives. This was flagged as suspicious. Part of this money was used 4 vehicles and other items. "So investigation found monies were used for the Swapo campaign.

Namibians are hypocrites and it would be fine was it not at the cost of people's lives. Prominent people are attending funerals and gatherings without a care in the world. The same people preach about the Covid wave, yet they've just left a gathering of more than 10 people.
The way I see it all Covid-19 patients should be quarantined at Etosha and subjected to a nightly Elephant dung bonfire, all in hand with a glass of the Madagascar tonic to enjoy the sundown.
"Today marks exactly 128 years since German soldiers, led by Curt Von Francois, attacked Nama Chief Kaptein Hendrik Witbooi’s headquarters at Hoornkrans on 12 April 1893 and brutally killed 80 people, mostly women and children." LET US NEVER EVER FORGET
Jessica not only gave us a good laugh, but pumped up
@newsonnbc
all time low ratings, but instead of creatively capitalising on this moment and her newfound fame they punish her.

Finance Minister Shiimi said president Hage Geingob has raised Namibia's profile to the point that the Wall Street Journal has sent a journalist to Namibia for interviews.
It seems that so many brilliant young Namibians are cast aside because they appear too angry. Perhaps, as part of our vision for a new Namibia, we must come together and support each other to channel our energy, so as not to lose the focus.
While dispossessed descendents of Nama&Ovaherero are languishing in poverty the grandchildren of German imperial soldiers will know no hardship for generations to come. Instead they will be carefree, riding horses on land their forebears forcefully took from the Nama & Ovaherero.
Colleagues, you are laughing at Zimbabwe thinking we are doing well.
When an engineer and architect find themselves applying for driver and waiter jobs we are are exactly at the beginning of a crisis.
WHK mayor Amupanda confronts presidential press secretary for not paying his barber this afternoon. Instead, the barber reportedly informed Job that Hengari only wants to pay N$50.
It is refreshing to see a state journalist standing tall doing their job, without fear or favour.
@edward_mumbuu
's boldness, fearlessness and courage is what this country's media industry needs desperately. The question now is, is this govt ready for this kind of journalism?
Curt von Francois is falling today after much protests from Namibian youth especially
@aafrobeat
whose petition gave the final shove, pushing the City of Windhoek to resolve to remove the statue.
President Geingob accords General Mutwa a hero's funeral with a three-day mourning period.
Yet, Prof. Kerina is accorded a mere state funeral.
Make me understand this.
I apologise unconditionally and wholeheartedly for calling the former minister an "honourable. I am willing to crowdfund or sell fudge to compensate those of you, whose persons I have offended. Askies ne.
Olivier said there were several attempts by the Fishrot accused to interfere with investigation. Bernhard Esau planned to auction his abt 300 cattle between April and June this year.
I am just thinking about how Namibians have normalized/romanticized bribery. "Oc, here is a N$100. Thank you for helping me fill in this form (to a bank clerk, whose job it is)." "My son, take this KFC bucket. You are a blessing. Thank you for speeding up the process."
After a terrible January battling depression and fighting a stomach flu the last week, I woke up to the news that I am selected as a whole entire research fellow for Afrasid. Thank you, Lord.
Billions of Nam dollars were pumped into the Covid Response, but we still lack the basic of supplies. PPE, gloves, critical staff, small small nebulizers etc. The media has been denied access to the accountability report for months now.
Not Namibian sports politicians claiming a piece of the silver medal Mboma won, while they do the bare minimum for athletes. Just stop it. Let us remember the "Horror show at National Youth Games". This is your kinda support. So until you can do better, stop posting ng.
The saddest thing about the Namibian medical industry is that most often a medical professional will pester you for a follow-up, only because they need your money. And when your benefits are depleted, at your darkest hour, they are 'fully booked'.
Today, 🇳🇦 journalists stood firm, asserting our right to gather content, even in the face of army generals. Some African peers were surprised, not used to journalists challenging army and police chiefs. Our commitment to press freedom ran deep, a legacy of Geingob's leadership.
Here is me trying to convince former DRC president Joseph Kabila for an interview. I’ve been trying to get that interview for a few years now, but he mos doesn’t give interviews. Every time I’m trying my luck, maybe soon. 📸
@jiggyjems
There is the other tate who bought a Porche with an Agribank loan. Every time I see him, I ask whether he arrived in the Porche. Let us hold people accountable.
We must hold these people accountable whenever we see them. When we see Juliette Kavetuna, please ask her how the construction is going (cement in the car).
If these are his sentiments, what then was the purpose of this visit? This is also, by the way, the ward for the malnourished children, the most vulnerable of our society.
😭😭😭😭😭😭It just sunk in. Omes you spoilt me. I was a spoilt journalist brat. 😭😭😭😭 yes, we are the freest press, but you allowed me to test the Namibian Constitution to its fullest.
These are the things that fuels tribal wars. Let's never forget how the Rwanda civil war began.
@ydausab
shall this remain, but a tweet that perpetuates stereotypes? Lest we forget, these types of stereotypes is the reason members of the Damara community are overlooked for jobs.
For once, the Damara people are doing something beautiful, cultural identity.
I love this!👏👏👏
This overshadow that violence image of breaking bottles, knife stabbing, insults, no culture identity that I only know of them.
The government has dispatched 100 mattresses, tents for temporary shelter and food provision consisting of 48 pallets each containing 1 800 tins and 40 000 bags of maize and mahangu to residents of Twaloloka at Walvis Bay following a devastating fire last night.
ACC investigator William Olivier is back in the Windhoek Magistrates Court to continue his testimony in the matter of Bernhard Esau and Tamson Hatuikulupi.
@AntonioKashaka
@nykCh121518
I'm a very hardworking Namibian. We cannot make blanket statements. Just as you have lazy Namibians and hardworking Namibians - so you have hardworking and lazy Zimbabweans.
We must hold these people accountable whenever we see them. When we see Juliette Kavetuna, please ask her how the construction is going (cement in the car).
I find it interesting that some of our white Namibians are so very critical of how Namibia voted on the UN- Russia/Ukraine vote, but I see very little if at all any outrage from them on the racism black Africans including Namibians were subjected to by Ukrainians.
Olivier tells the court that Mike Nghipunya was appointed as the Fishcor CEO in 2016, seconded in 2014 by the fisheries ministry to be an acting CEO. Nghipunya had a junior position- Grade 8 in the ministry. Olivier said the CEO position was't advertised, as it should've been.
Many years ago,
@newsonnbc
had a children's cartoon show abt antibodies and the immune system. I remember how serious the red blood cells were as soldiers. Now is the time to dig that out of the archives and replay it for the nation to understand how vaccines/ antibodies works.
Namibia's mantra about "leaving the small fish and going after the big fish" worries me a great deal. Do you know how many people are denied jobs because they were blacklisted for being unable to pay their student loans- they are deemed people without integrity.
The problem with help culture in Namibia is that they only help you up when you've pulled yourself up already. They can only help when you've paid off all yr debts,they can only support sports stars after becoming stars, they can only give food once you're about to die of hunger.
"But Mboma and Masilingi have done nothing but exist, excel, and defy expectations. Neither woman is inherently controversial. They're just fast. The scandal is in how some people choose to react to them." Morgan Campbell
One of the reasons Namibians are refusing to take the vaccine is because of the president's statement about the available vaccines not being suitable for him. The president must urgently rephrase himself and clarify this statement.
Many Namibians are waiting for a ‘better’ vaccine to arrive in country. The
@WHO
and
@AfricaCDC
advise that the best vaccine to take is the one available to you right now. Don’t wait for a specific brand. All vaccines being used in Namibia are approved by
@WHO

's reperation offer for the 1904-08 Nama and Ovaherero genocide. The chains symbolizes the brutality of the German Shutztruppe.
8 trillion could never make up for the social and economic trauma the Nama and Ovaherero people suffered. People were murdered, humiliated and disgraced - their descendents were reduced to being beggars.
Colleagues, when you cry corruption, nepotism and connections please check yourselves first. We must begin at our doorsteps when we really, truly want to build a Namibia where everyone has the same access to opportunities.
