On Saturday night, the Met arrested three Night Stars charity volunteers.
Among other items, they seized rape alarms they hand out to vulnerable women.
My story for
@itvlondon
, with thanks to
@brokenbottleboy
who spoke to me at length having met with the arrested volunteers:
I asked the Met if they “regret” arresting Riz and the other two Night Stars volunteers as they did the six protesters released after being detained preemptively.
This evening all six have had their bail cancelled and no further action will be taken.
We regret that those six people arrested were unable to join the wider group of protesters in Trafalgar Square and elsewhere on the procession route.
I'm told by
@XRebellionUK
(with whom Riz is openly affiliated) that
@metpoliceuk
has yet to contact him, either to cancel his bail as they did other protesters... or to apologise.
UPDATE: Three Night Stars volunteers arrested my Met released without charge and will NOT face further action.
@aicha_less
says Council leader requests an apology from
@metpoliceuk
for volunteers.

Rumour has it that the story was planted in the Daily Mail by the head of the Met communications team, who is an ex-Daily Mail journalist. In order to 'seed' their justification for arrests at the coronation.

Oh sure, I wouldn't bet my house on it.
Just making educated guess with knowledge of what MET, their Media Department (usually headed by right wing ex hacks) & the corrupt relationship with rw press has done for decades.
Book 'Hack Attack' by Nick Davies is amazing on this

Do you think it might have been used purely so that pro Police/right wing trolls on this site & elsewhere could all weekend claim that there was defo the rape alarms plot. & all that was based on was that they'd seen the DM headline
Gave MET a couple of days cover.

It's a funny place for a handcuff mark . They are normally around your wrists. Is that a Chinese burn I see or just dirty wrist band marks?
