If you’re a
#WhiteSox
fan ALREADY complaining about the Andrew Benintendi signing, I don’t know what to tell you. You’re just looking for something to complain about.
The current outfield of Benintendi-Robert-Colas is really solid. And they finally spent money. What gives?
#WhiteSox
and free agent DH Edwin Encarnacion are close to an agreement on a contract, per source. Encarnacion would serve as the White Sox full-time DH, while James McCann would be primarily the backup catcher.
Incredible stuff: BYU big Aly Khalifa posted a game-high +/- of 25 today…in his first EVER game that he’s played during the fasting hours of Ramadan.
No food, no water, no problem for Khalifa.

need to move quickly. Sign Keuchel, trade for another starter, and add a pair of impact relief arms and they become the clear front-runner in the AL Central
Merry Christmas
#WhiteSox
fans—source confirms White Sox sign Edwin Encarnacion to one year/$12Million deal with a club option for 2021. White Sox add their big power righty.
BYU sharpshooter Trevin Knell said the Cougars wanted this specific path in the Big-12 Tournament just for the opportunity to play Texas Tech again:
“We’ve had this one circled for a while.”

are well-positioned to make an impact trade this week. Per sources, the White Sox are willing to part with major league talent in order to acquire established players with control

are “prepared” to forfeit their second round pick if it means signing a higher-end free agent that received the qualifying offer. Sox are very interested in Wheeler and Odorizzi and would sacrifice the pick if it meant signing a player of that caliber.
The
#WhiteSox
are expected to target Yankees reliever Dellin Betances in free agency, per source. Sox view Betances as the lights-out right-handed reliever that the team has been missing.
It’s about time I break my silence on this year’s
#WhiteSox
…
I cannot remember a season so frustrating as a sports fan. So many what ifs, poor decisions, and bad breaks. I, like so many others, was criminally wrong about this team. But that’s not what frustrates me….
Dylan Cease to the
#Orioles
sounds like it’s picking up a bit of steam. I don’t doubt that the
#WhiteSox
are asking for Jackson Holliday in any deal. Should be a really interesting next few hours…
#WhiteSox
make a great bargain in extending Aaron Bummer. I’ve been told by sources to expect one more extension before Opening Day—Moncada, Giolito, Cease all candidates.
#WhiteSox
are calling up Zack Collins, placing Wellington Castillo on the 10-day IL (
@AndySlater
first). First big in-season callup of 2019 for the White Sox, who add their 2016 first-rounder.
#WhiteSox
remain somewhat in the outfielder market, but they are prioritizing immediate relief help, per source. Will Harris, Steve Cishek among options.
In my opinion, the best version of the 2023
#WhiteSox
roster does not contain Yasmani Grandal.
I’d trade for Sean Murphy or sign Christian Vazquez. I wouldn’t be opposed to signing Willson Contreras, or even a reunion with Omar Narvaez. Yaz just isn’t the answer.
I don’t understand why people want the
#WhiteSox
to trade Liam Hendriks. It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. They don’t need to free up $, and they will likely not get reasonable value in return.
Why would they trade one of the best players and only givens on the team?
Texas Tech’s Robert Jennings after the win over BYU:
“I don’t think we focus too much on what’s being said.”
Said it was business as usual for the Red Raiders despite BYU having this game circled.

#WhiteSox
in light of recent Manny Machado rumblings, I was not able to confirm anything along to lines of a deal being imminent. However, White Sox fans should be feeling really, really good....
Figured that i’ll end the decade with this tweet:
#WhiteSox
fans, great things are ahead. There are a lot of unknowns heading into the new year, but I can guarantee that this coming decade will be much more fruitful than the last. Our patience will pay off in the near future.
Despite not opting out on Monday, J.D. Martinez remains at the top of the
#WhiteSox
offseason priorities, per source. White Sox will certainly explore a trade for the All-Star designated hitter.
My Cease tweet was not speculation. From what i’ve heard, the
#WhiteSox
have a specific time in mind. Cease has nothing left to prove, and the White Sox acknowledge that
Source: A name to watch for the
#WhiteSox
in free agency:

lefty Hyun-Jin Ryu. Sox have been interested in both Ryu and Rich Hill during past trade talks with the Dodgers, and are very much in the market for a top-3 of the rotation southpaw.
One more thing about the
#WhiteSox
. Usually I’m pretty impartial to athletes, but the effort level on this year’s team has been disgusting. If you don’t wanna be there, don’t play. It’s a slap to the face of everyone taking the time to watch.
#WhiteSox
standing pat means that they are set on contending next year. This likely means a busy winter, which will include targeting at least one marquee free agent.
Nearly two years later, we could have something. I’m hearing that the
#WhiteSox
have been in contact with free agent outfielder Joc Pederson, and that he is on the short list of potential right fielders for CWS next season.
In
#WhiteSox
news—sources confirmed to me this afternoon that a Joc Pederson trade is NOT dead. Lack of discussion between
#Dodgers
and White Sox can be attributed to the fact that the Dodgers have multiple trade conversations in the present, including about Realmuto and Kluber.
I am incredibly excited to announce that I will be interning with
@FOXSports
in their Los Angeles studios this Spring.
Words can’t express how thankful I am for those who have supported me up to this point.
I’ll be heading out west next month and start on February 13th!
Sources: Nothing close at the moment between the
#WhiteSox
and
#Rangers
in talks surrounding Nomar Mazara, but there is serious motivation to get a deal done within the next day or so.
Despite signing Luis Robert to an extension this morning, the
#WhiteSox
have little motivation or plans to do the same with Nick Madrigal, per sources. Madrigal is slightly behind Robert in terms of readiness and is looking increasingly more likely to start 2020 in Triple-A
Now that the
#WhiteSox
have their fifth starter, it wouldn’t be the worst thing if they were to end their free agent expenditure by signing Ryu and Puig. Fills the two biggest holes, then the Sox can add to the bullpen via trade.
#WhiteSox
and Dallas Keuchel are in an agreement, confirmed per source. Huge add for the White Sox and the top of their rotation. Bullpen needs an arm or two, but the Sox are in good shape.
#WhiteSox
fans have a weird bias towards Daniel Palka. If Pederson deal works out, then Palka doesn’t start. Any way you cut if. It goes Abreu at first, Alonso at DH, Jay in RF, Pederson in CF. Palka off the bench. Sorry
One step closer to everything we’ve talked about since high school…
For real, I am so lucky to have the best mentor and Mom in my corner. Nothing is possible without her. Forever thankful.
So my message to the White Sox - and I’ll be expanding on it on
@TSAHSPod
this week - is this. Figure it out. With every loss, you’re further distancing yourself from the fanbase that has stayed so loyal despite very little payoff.
The sentiment from ownership to the fans has been really, really sorrowful. I hope Sox fans keep calling out the front office and poor process. The White Sox are always watching (trust me, they are reading everything 😂). I’m a big believer in change….
For my last Spring Break of college, I knew I had to go all-out.
I didn’t go to Cabo,
I didn’t go skiing,
I didn’t celebrate St Paddy’s Day,
I covered 13 basketball games in 5 days, and loved every second of it.
Big THANK YOU to everyone who followed along this week!
I am honored, blessed, and excited to announce that I will be spending the next four years of my life at the University of Texas-Austin’s Moody School of Communication. I can’t even begin to express the eternal gratitude and appreciation that I have for those who aided me in this
I almost never keep it personal on here, but i’m excited to announce that I was accepted into the University of Texas’ Moody School of Communications last night. Still waiting on a few schools but this marks a point in my life and career where i never thought i’d be.
Anybody that is comparing
#WhiteSox
center fielder Luis Robert to Lewis Brinson needs to find a new hobby. Just a downright stupid and uneducated comparison.
And although it’s hard to envision the current regime executing any meaningful change, eventually change will come. It’s not a failed rebuild yet - it’s a lost season - but the White Sox have very little margin for error now. Very frustrating considering where things stood in ‘20
One player to watch in the
#WhiteSox
trade talks with the
#Dodgers
: Dustin May. Top-50 prospect in all of baseball, major league ready by 2020. Would be a reasonable headliner in a deal including Aaron Bummer and Alex Colome.
Pumped to announce that
@tommy_yarrish
and myself are joining
@TheFieldOf68
to host a brand-new Texas basketball podcast, Hook ‘Em Hoops.
Big thank you to Jeff Goodman and Rob Dauster for this opportunity. Honored to be a part of this team and can’t wait to get to work!
#HookEm
Let’s call it how it is: where things stand at the moment, this
#WhiteSox
roster is absolutely not a World Series-caliber team. There are holes (SP, RF) that NEED to be filled through free agency. In today’s MLB you spend big to win big: a memo that the Sox clearly haven’t gotten
The
#WhiteSox
have signed free agent outfielder Brandon Guyer to a minor league contract with an invite to Spring Training. Guyer, 33, hit .206 with seven home runs in 103 games with the Indians in ‘18. Hit .333 in 70 games for AL Champion Indians in 2016
While it has been quite the decade for Chicago sports, undoubtedly the worst moment of the decade was Derrick Rose tearing his ACL. No single injury has changed the trajectory of a sports franchise more in the last decade.
I’ve watched White Sox baseball for 10 seasons. Since I was nine years old. I’ve seen only three playoff games in my time as a fan. That was the coolest moment I have ever experienced as a
#WhiteSox
fan. I love this team.
Air Force transfer Rytis Petraitis is taking an official visit to Texas this weekend, he tells me.
Averaged 15.7 points and 6.3 rebounds as a sophomore.
Something to watch: From what i’ve heard, Rick Hahn is “very hesitant” to trade Bryce Bush, the
#WhiteSox
2018 33rd round pick. Bush put up big numbers in his pro debut, Dodgers have had at least a little bit of interest
This has been Chendall Weaver’s best game in a Texas uniform. Hands-down. Don’t be surprised if Texas wins a game in the Big Dance from a play of his. The very definition of a winning player.
As the team announced, Michael Kopech opted out of the 2020 season today. Two-consecutive missed seasons for a pre-arb player isn’t good, but here’s the silver lining: the Sox get Kopech for all of 2026, opposed to 60 games this season. That’s a win.
#WhiteSox
General Manager Rick Hahn is now done with
#SoxFest
appearances for the weekend. Q&A seminar done, media press conference, opening ceremonies all done last night. Opens a 36-hour window for a SoxFest trade.
#WhiteSox
also will not trade James McCann or Jose Abreu. Both are likely to be extended this offseason. Sox like McCann and Abreu as leaders and envision them both playing big roles on contending teams in the coming years.
I’d bet they didn’t announce his name as he ran out from the bullpen because they didn’t want to hear the loudest applause Guaranteed Rate Field has heard all season. Not surprised.
With the Longhorns season coming to an end last night, so has my time covering Texas Football with
@TSTVSports
.
I am forever thankful for the opportunities made possible during my four years on campus with TSTV. Thank you for everyone who has followed along and supported.
We’re finally here: tomorrow marks the beginning of my last ever week of school.
I’ve loved every second of my time at The University of Texas. Deciding to go to this school without having ever visited was the best decision I’ve made. Very thankful for these past four years.
Excited to announce that I’ve been named the Executive Producer of College Pressbox, TSTV’s reigning Show of the Year, for
@TSTVSports
. Being EP of Pressbox is a true honor and I look forward to following in the footsteps of all the great EPs during my time at TSTV!
Truly excited to announce that I’ve been named Co-Sports Director of
@TSTVSports
for this fall. Being Sports Director of TSTV was my biggest goal when I joined my freshman year, and getting to spend my senior year guiding the station to new heights is a real honor.
