@JakeAnbinder While set in new jersey canonically the entire area was owned (and presumably built) by one man. So it's possible he was inspired by San Francisco.

@JakeAnbinder The show is set in 'Seymour's Bay' (but a fictional one, not the one in Michigan), and apparently a lot of people compare it to Ocean City, NJ so you're spot on.
