Finished the season around 86% across both comps.V happy with that % but what I’m most pleased with is that I went through the whole season without missing more than 1 kick in a game.I’m immensely proud of that.Comes down to consistent practice and training my mindset!

Not having real grass on an Astro pitch means it’s v difficult to gauge wind. Credit to @craignewby6 on this idea. ‘Hunting chalk’ to get a clearer read of the wind. One of those things that once you use it once, you think ‘how did we not think of this before’.

Another thing I’ve stolen from American football. They’re obsessed with ‘hang time’. How long does the ball stay in the air. It gives your chase a better opportunity to shut the attack down. Today I used a stopwatch to record my hang time off my box kicks. Aiming for >4secs!

How often are you practicing scenario based kicks? Last kick of the day- 79.05 on the clock. Down by 2 points. Don’t want the other team to get a kick off so you have to use up 55seconds of the 60 you get! Absolutely nailed 🎯. And please bloody celebrate your big kicks 😂

This was my favourite kick of last season. It was the aggregate games. Every kick mattered more than ever.A lot of good kickers were missing. This is the hardest spot for a conversion in the kingspan. I remember thinking ‘You’ll probably miss.Just swing a leg at it & have a go’

Did some proper snap kicks today. Got back to back kicks at 45/50 and 55 yards. This is a video of the 55 yarders. There was a tricky cross wind so it wasn’t my first attempt at b2b 😂. Persistent as ever though! Can hear my self talk too!

I’ll debate to the rest of my life that kicking a rugby ball is the exact same as kicking a football (long ball). Kickers should be coached as footballers , not mechanical rugby kickers who ‘stay tall’ and ‘run after the ball’. Jaminet=Alonso. O’Connor -rugby conventional

#NB Not all missed kicks are bad. Ulster v Munster (a) 2019. I take a long kick to go 4 ahead and it falls short. The outcome is awful,Conway hits a brilliant kick. What did I learn?That when close to my range-the shortest path between two points is a straight line.

I went to Gonzaga with no interest in rugby and just wanted to play football. I’m glad we weren’t really good back then & I made the A team otherwise I would have given it up straight away 😂. Jk grateful for everything they did to help me get to where I am now @Gonzagadublin 💚

@CormacSheehy The wind was swirling. As a kicker you shouldn’t always gamble on the wind. I felt I kicked the 3 conversions spot on but I don’t control the blow of a wind in the final metre 👍 thanks for your advice though

It was her sister ‘Bella’. With a tear in @ClareParsons3 ‘s eye, little did she ever know that she would get to see bonnie’s sister. So after 10 years apart, bonnie and Bella are reunited in Belfast. It’s crazy how the world works ♥️
