One thing that never fails to surprise me is the love and solidarity of the rugby family from the other 6N when things look tough. I think every fan knows Italy is trying and is slowly bridging the gap, these proposed changes will destroy the sport completely.
#ForzaItalia
🇮🇹💙
Already seeing people starting to bang the drums that Italy don't deserve to be in the 6 nations following out loss in Rome. Can I just be the voice of reason for a second? Most of our players have a handful of caps, imagine what these players can do with 50 under their belt? 🇮🇹
Whether they were only sensationalist pieces from the Daily Mail and the Wales Online team or not, this statement only came from the outcry of love for the
@Federugby
by our wonderful rugby community & the family of the 6N. I love this sport & I love this tournament.
#ForzaItalia
I was disappointed when I saw this, then thought to myself, "imagine considering yourself a dedicated rugby media outlet and not even being able to report on the match correctly."
This is embarrassing
@RugbyPass
I know the headlines will be dominanted by Capuozzo (and rightly so) but can we just take a minute to acknowledge Marin who turned 20 at the end of Feb (and was actually called up from our current u20). 16/16 tackles in 53 minutes with his 3rd start at 12 in his entire career. 💪🏼
🇿🇦vs🇮🇹 U20 World Cup
We did it, Italy beat South Africa 34-26 at their home world cup.
Commiserations South Africa but congratulations to Italy, who showed who they are. You've done us proud. Onto the next one.
@Federugby
@Springboks
Due to England's well-deserved bonus point against France last night, Italy unfortunately missed out on 3rd place. But 3 wins, including our first against England and a bonus point win away from home in Wales, we can hold our heads up high. 🇮🇹

Wow... what a game, nice to see us trying to take on Ireland and having some decent success in attack but we need to sure up our defence for sure. Shame about the
@ITVRugby
commentary though, disappointed with the disparaging of Italy.
🇮🇹vs🇫🇷
First of all, congratulations France.
I just want to say how proud I am of Italy for the performance they put in today, we came close at the end to snatch it and this shows the growth of the game in the last 12 months. A lot to work on ahead of 🏴 next week.

🇮🇹 CAPUOZZO UPDATE 🇮🇹
The FIR medical staff have confirmed that Capuozzo WILL be part of the selection ahead of the Wales and Scotland game and will be monitoring his injury but remain optimistic of his inclusion. An an Italian fan I'll be keeping everything crossed. 🤞🏼
I've been following Squidge for a few years now and for the first time I've been lucky and appreciative of the fact that we can get a breakdown on an Italian win in the 6 nations, with all that anticipation and excitment he did NOT disappoint, thank you. 🇮🇹💙🏴
NEW VIDEO: It's been 7 years. 36 games. 2577 days. For the first time ever, I get to cover a major Italian win as the Azzuri achieved an incredible victory over Wales with their best performance in at least half a decade. So, just how did they pull it off?
This is something that Italy have been building for a while, our elite pathway has been building and I'm so proud of the lads. Forza Italia. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹💙💙💙
🇮🇹 Really sad to see the news of an alleged injury to Capuozzo, which is set to keep him out the tournament. He's been sensational all tournament, and he will be missed against Wales and Scotland.
This may or may not have brought a tear to my eye. This is what it meant to everyone involved, including the new president at the end. For once 'just Italy' seems fitting. 💙
After the heartache of Sunday this is EXACTLY what we needed from the u20's
🇮🇹38-31🏴 this is a England team that beat both Ireland and France to get to this 3rd/4th place play-off. Congrats to both sets of players.

This is heartbreaking if true, it feels like we're so close to it all clicking and to have something like this published mid-tournament is just bleak. A sad day for Italian rugby.

Although we didn't get the result against SA today, I think we've shown a monumental step forward as a country, putting the results aside, we have finally found an attacking identity and what appears to be a team philosophy to build on. /1

Wow, these are numbers we haven't seen in a long time in Italian rugby. 120,000 tickets sold. If it is split evenly, we're talking of 60,000 seats each for the two home games. Could we be seeing the Olympico sold out this year? 👀

🚨UNPOPULAR OPINION
I think the narrative of 'if you're born somewhere you should represent that country' is very disrespectful of the player & their families. If a player chooses to represent their heritage/ family, who are we to disparage their choices or tell them otherwise?
When you are incredibly misinformed: for those of you who can do a very simple Google you'd be able to tell that Louis Lynagh was BORN in Italy, to an ITALIAN mother. But let's not let facts get in the way of a disparaging rhetoric...
Italy is getting numerous of its eligible heritage players from abroad (exception is Lozowski). Spain still can't even get their homegrown wing Ezeala, let alone others like Segonds or Rey. It is the difference between one with 6N money and one without.
🇫🇷v🇮🇹
This is probably going against grain for many followers because of the controversy surrounding the final kick.
But I want to commend Christophe Ridley for a genuinely brilliant debut game in the 6N. I don't want this one point to take away from a brilliant 🇮🇹 performance.
I want to congratulate Georgia for a fantastic win against us today. They thoroughly deserved their win and can see how much it meant to them, we weren't good enough today. No excuses.
🇮🇹vs☘️ Word of the day:- Progress
It's a weird feeling because I know we were playing the best team in the world and did lots of things well, but it still seems there is more to come from this young team.

Regardless of this result I am proud of our boys, they've rediscovered an 'Italian' way of playing and as disappointed us Italian fans are we know a little bit of better execution we could have taken the W home.

I know these radical claims of mediocrity regarding Sexton are purely made to boost engagement & gain followers, but what a load of tosh this is.
Sexton is a generational talent and is by & large a core component towards Ireland's success in recent years.
Slán leat Sexton
Mortified at what happened to Traore this week. At worst, it was an evil despicable act - at best, it was crass stupidity and exceptionally distasteful. Traore might feel like it's water under the bridge, but I can't help but feel heartbroken for him. Very sad week all round.
If you're interested in Italian rugby, please take 2 minutes to listen to what it means to these young men to represent their country, to fight with one another. Comradeship and passion.
As I've mentioned before David Odiase is a name to remember.
@Federugby

Admittedly the lads made that much harder than it needed to be, kicking is still an issue and threatened to be our undoing again, with only 1 kick converted from our 5 attempts. Odiase. My god. Gallorini. MY GOD.
Remember these lads names. 🔥

Grazie a tutti per i vostri messaggi e pensieri. Sono costretto a tornare a Tolosa per iniziare a riprendermi dall'infortunio che mi impedisce di finire il Sei Nazioni con l'Italia.

🇮🇹vs🏴 GAME DAY
As Italian fans, we've suffered more than most, but today, it feels different.
Today, we wake up with excitement. In many eyes, we're favourites & we need to flourish under that responsibility, because what gave them that label is what will drive them to victory.
Final thoughts 6N 2023 🇮🇹🏴🇫🇷🏴☘️🏴
Congratulations Ireland.
This has quite possibly been the most competitive tournament since Italy's inclusion in 2000. France finding their flair. Scotland showing they've learnt 'how to win'. England started a new path. Wales moving forward.
🇮🇹vs🏴 FULL TIME
We didn't deserve to win that game sadly, congratulations Wales. Frustrating from us, we can do better therefore we should be better. One last push next week, let's hope we focus on composure in the final third. Still proud of the lads, still lots to improve. 💙

Heartbroken for the lads. We need to be nailing those kicks, 5 tries to 3 and we lost by 1 point - a lot of learnings to take but proud of how well we played against one of the best youth development teams in the world.

Really well done England, thoroughly enjoyed my time at HQ today. Wasn't our day, but I'm glad we played some exciting rugby in the 2nd half! Forza Italia!
A nervy 40 minutes a head for Italian fans. Very proud of the first 40 from Italy though, Wales showing their class and how dangerous they can be on the counterattack though.
@andypowell8
Former teammate or not you should know better than to call people out online. Having a bev & enjoying your weekend isn't the issue, it's acting in an unnecessary & aggressive manner for someone questioning your opinion on a highly devisive & sensitive subject. Don't drink & tweet
This. This is what we've been saying for a while, add some of the emerging talent from our u20's (Mey, Gallorini, Odiase, Passarella) to name just a few and we're suddenly looking like a very dangerous team!
Tough day at the office for the boys, but the lads need to dust themselves off and try and find anything positive that they can from this performance. Obviously everyone is disappointed, but we need to get behind the boys next week. Forza Italia. 💪🏼🇮🇹
I think this is what we want to hear.
1) Player suspended
2) Third-party investigation, which will impose relevant sanctions when concluded
3) Further condemnation of the act
🇮🇹 Lamaro named captain in the world 15 game against the Baba's. Really happy to see our boys representing our nation, our movement and finally get the recognition they deserve. Hopefully they play a blinder too!
You should absolutely enjoy this coach. You've done an exceptional job and on behalf of every Italian fan (maybe every rugby fan full-stop) thank you for last Saturday. A lot still to work on to continue our development, but it's nice for us to finally get our just desserts.💙💙
Don’t normally tweet after a game but now that the dust have settled just want to say how proud I am of this group of players, not as much because of the result on Saturday but because of all the hard work on and off the field during the 6 Nations and for always believing.
@SamLStandsUp
Imo this was more embarrassing than anything; you'd expect a representative of the RFU (at whatever level) to understand the well document protocol around HIA's. Regardless, I'm glad the English player was fine that's the most important thing.
Full-time: 🇮🇹 Italy 24-27 England 🏴
After a stunning first-half, silly errors & fatigue cost Italy as England come from behind to win but a stoppage time score salvages a losing BP in Rome.
Lots of positives for this young side.

I know
@SquidgeRugby
and a couple of others have been an advocate of Garbisi for a while but I think we're seeing why, his maturity tonight was impressive for a 22 year old. It looks like Saint-Andre is enabling his growth and helping him improve game on game.
This is MASSIVE news for Italian rugby. Creating a centre of excellence within Sicily is a big step in bridging the gap between north/ south divide in Italian rugby. Being able to crack the talent pools in the South is secret to long-term success at the highest level in Italy.
🏴vs🇮🇹 Game Day

To start off with, obviously
@Springboks
have plenty of depth to cover the hooker position, but losing probably the best hooker in the world is a bigger loss than most are making out. Shame that he's out the tournament, love watching him play as a neutral!
"We're sending a big message to the world of rugby, that we're coming for all of you people. We've been working so hard, & eating shit for the past few years & now the results are starting to come."
Odiase is truly brilliant let's hope we manage to show what we're about tomorrow
🇮🇹🏉 This is more poignant now more than ever.
As Italian fans, we've listened to years of pundits, fans & news articles questioning our commitment to rugby & disrespecting our movement.
The boys have a real opportunity tomorrow to show the rugby world that the tide is changing.

Captain Lamaro: "Our forwards definitely do not have the size of France's, so we need to make sure we are the first to put our face on the line to make up for it."
Anyone want to know why I'm so optimistic about Italian rugby we just need to watch young Odiase speak, how much the shirt means to him and how important it is for him to represent his country. Goosebumps.

🇮🇹vs🇫🇷 HT Score and Thoughts: 14-19
So where to start? That half took years off my life. Lots of really nice attacking play with great shape from us, but I think we're guilty of overplaying in our 22 & should look to exit more effectively. All in all, very happy were still in it!
Just a further thought on this: Today our young lads learnt a harsh lesson in game and ref management. More compsure, discipline and accuracy - this could have been a very different game.
Forza Italia always. 💙

@WorldRugby
in a world where we have to remind people 'to be kind' it is absolutely unacceptable that Wayne and his family are receiving these sorts of threats for doing his job. If this doesn't go against our values and bring the game into disrepute, then I'm not sure what does?
As I said in one of the comments earlier: Completely down for banter but this felt more like the lads that put their blood, sweat and tears into their shirts yesterday are being kicked when they are down. Anti the values I cherish in my opinion. Oh well "it's only Italy".

Not really sure what to say here, Wales have been clinical with their opportunities and deserve their lead however I can't help but feel disappointed about the rub of the green with some of these decisions. Incredibly frustrating but rugby is a game of 2 halves.
