I’m not sure how old you are? 89-90 I was back to back champion with the Detroit Pistons, Born and raised on the west side of Chicago, where a street is named after my mother MARY THOMAS Lawndale, Garfield, Austin is where I lived in Chicago.

My brother Gilbert Arenas with all due respect we
@DetroitPistons
and I played against and beat Magic, Kareem, Bird and Jordan. We also made it possible for you and the rest of your brothers to now travel on private planes and stay in 5 star hotels. Let it be known
Gilbert Arenas on the Bad Boy Pistons
#Pistons
" You had a two-year window, you had an advantage over everyone in those two years. No one knows the Detroit Pistons were the first team to have their own private plane."
I grew up on the westside sometimes with no house to call my own, I never had the ego to call a city mine. You are not from Chicago that’s why you think that way.

Stephen A Smith on a convo he had with Isiah Thomas about Steph Curry:
"Isiah Thomas said to me that if he was playing in our era, he would not have averaged more than 18 points a game"

The case against Michael Jordan not being the GOAT, according to
@getnickwright
:
1. Loser without Pippen
2. Never once beat Larry Bird
3. Could never beat a Super Team
4. The East was terrible
5. Everyone won rings on his watch
"We pretend Jordan's career was 6 years long."
My apologies to Isiah Thomas... multiple sources reached out to tell me I'm dead wrong to say 9 members of the Dream Team objected to Isiah being on the '92 Olympic team. Nowhere near that number objected. My apologies to Isiah for getting it wrong...
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was the only player in the Top 10 in three of the five main statistical categories.
That's no longer the case.
After last night's game, LeBron James is also Top 10 in three categories (points, assists AND steals).

Stop lying this story is not factual or accurate, tell the truth man. Dr.J, Moses Malone, Larry Bird, Sidney Moncrief and I did not freeze you out. If memory serves me correct I was injured most of the second half and Bird had a broken nose. Magic and Sampson dominated the game.

@BeckyHammon
sadly this game historically does favor the Taller, stronger athlete and when smaller sized people have success it is more impressive in my opinion. The 1A player has historically been taller players than myself or Steph we are the outliers.
Rest in peace Bill Russell you were everything we all aspired to be, your winning spirit will live forever my friend. Thank you for your words of wisdom.

@IsiahThomas
wants to remind everyone he was a Bad Boy for real!

Every starter in the 1984 NBA All Star Game has a bust in the HOF but one star shone above the rest that day in Denver, Isiah Thomas. His 21pts, 5rebs, 4 steals and 15 assists netted him this MVP trophy, but it will join one bidder's trophy case on Aug 29
Had we known that history would judge us by our individual scoring numbers, and devalue the champion. I conclude we would have all played the game differently. The champion today is only a word not a number. Would you play for your individual numbers or try to collectively win?
Former UCLA basketball player, NBA agent and current Warriors President of basketball operations, Bob Myers, explaining beautifully why you judge players in the playoffs. Not the regular season. When players constantly underperform in the postseason it’s NOT a coincidence.

Race is a “made up” social construct used to divide not unite. We can’t have a real conversation about race in this country until we all acknowledge the fact that it’s not real, “it’s made up”
“When it’s all said and done, LeBron James, in my opinion, will be the greatest to ever do it.”
@IsiahThomas
discusses LeBron’s level of play in his 18th season.
If Giannis is a unanimous All-NBA First Team selection this season, he would be the first to do it FOUR years in a row since at least 1966-67.
The only others to have done it three years straight are Michael Jordan, LeBron James and James Harden 😳
(h/t Rh1No/Reddit)
LeBron James is 105 points away from overtaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for most all-time points in NBA history including playoffs.
Depending on how many games he misses, he could achieve that feat 7 games from now…
When the Lakers play the Bucks, the team that drafted Kareem.
Yes it does

Only 2 players in NBA history have averaged 30+ PPG, 10+ RPG, and 5+ APG on 50%+ shooting in a season.
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Wilt Chamberlain
Only ONE player in NBA history has averaged those numbers on 55%+ shooting.
