“Imagine blue colour, yellow colour”
Brilliant from Czech ice hockey fans who were barred by World Championship organisers from showing a Ukraine flag. 💙💛

This game, which took place 18 years ago today, may well be the greatest international I have ever seen in my life. It was EPIC!!!
Brilliant! Someone’s added the sign on the bottom of Prague’s Krymská (Crimean) public transport stop: “Crimean Bridge permanently closed — We kindly ask Russian occupiers to go home on rafts”. 😂😂😂
The “small ex-Soviet satellite state” referred to here is the Czech Republic.
What the hell — did this Wall Street Journal headline writer just wake up after 30 years in a coma?! 😂
Czechs should be really proud of the country’s dense network of colour-coded hiking trails – virtually all non-natives (myself included) who’ve come across this system are hugely impressed! 🔴🔵🟢🟡
I've said this before, but one thing Czechs should definitely be proud of is the country’s dense network of colour-coded hiking trails. Practically all non-natives (myself included) who have encountered this system are enormously impressed! 🔴🔵🟢🟡
This Czech Television sign language interpreter has won a lot of plaudits for a highly expressive rendering of the 🇨🇿 national anthem — even though it was an instrumental version 😀

Totally class ad from Czech Railways/
@ceske_drahy
, especially considering Hungary’s shameful anti-LGBT legislation. You could call it trolling but it’s just too nice! 👏👏👏

We thought we had seen it all in Czech politics – we have now.
President Miloš Zeman, who has Covid, has just appointed Petr Fiala PM from inside a protective perspex box.
So friends, today I have been living in 🇨🇿 for exactly 30 years! Little did I know when I arrived at Florenc bus station early one morning in September 1993 that I would never leave Prague, but somehow that's what's happened and I say three cheers for that!
Question for Czech native speakers – how has he instantly gone from being referred to as "Princ Charles" to now being called "Král Karel" in Czech? I mean, why wasn't he "Princ Karel"?

Check this out!
This 3D portrait of Václav Havel, assembled from a huge number of items associated with him, is really quite something.
It’s on show for the next 12 months at Prague’s VH Airport.
Best wishes to the amazing Volodymyr Zelensky, who is 45 today. Let's hope we can welcome him back to Prague some day as the leader of a free and intact Ukraine!
Great to see. Tens of thousands of people have gathered on Prague’s Wenceslas Square this afternoon to show unity against fear and support for continued solidarity ❤️
Karel Schwarzenberg has died at the age of 85. The aristocrat supported Czech dissidents from exile in Austria under communism and became Václav Havel’s head of office following the Velvet Revolution. He later served twice as Czech foreign minister. RIP.
Great photo. It’s like a high school movie or something, with Babiš and co. looking enviously at the cool kid who’s become way more popular than them. “Just who does he think he is?!”
The “Tom Cruise’s dad” stuff doesn’t really stand up, given the age gap is less than one year. How about the “white haired Tom Cruise” or “non-weird Tom Cruise”? 😂
RIP the great Czech photographer František Dostál, who has died at the age of 84. His series Letní lidé/Summer People from the early 1980s was particularly charming.
I feel I need to follow Czech media outlets on social media for work reasons but pretty much every day my stomach is turned by obnoxious crap like this. The ever-present laughing emoji is the cherry on the shit cake. (The hate-filled comments are of course best avoided).
