Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Yushiroh Hirano has hinted towards withdrawing from the Japanese National Team if the poor leadership within Japan Ice Hockey continues. The Asia League recently removed the East Hokkaido Cranes, leaving only 4 pro teams in Japan!

Let me make this clear. The IIHF should NOT reduce the amount of teams in the #WorldJuniors because Sweden blew out Austria. The WJC is a development tournament which is crucial for small nations. It brings in more funding and attention. It’s simply a stupid idea.

I was talking with BiH head coach Ross MacLean. In 2010 he was sent to Bosnia to create a hockey program. Blank sheet. They weren’t even in the Worlds a decade ago. He has done a fantastic job as Bosnia is now starting to climb the ranks.

Müller has also spent his entire 21 year long DEL career with Kölner Haie and never won a championship. Talk about loyalty. In 2004 he won D1 gold at the U18s and did the same in 2006 at the WJC. And of course you can’t forget his Olympic silver medal in 2018!
