At the time, I didn’t enjoy nor appreciate episodes like ‘Listen’ because I didn’t think this was what

should be doing. Now, I’m super glad this stuff was made, because Moffat took the show to another level where he could explore themes and ideas like no other show can
The final scene in the barn is an extraordinary exploration of childhood trauma and fear, something everyone suffers on some level. We all felt alone and scared sometimes, so to suggest that it can motivate us to become a hero like the Doctor is a beautiful message

@GuyLambertUK
just finished a rewatch of the show and one of the things that i really like with capaldi's era specifically is the ability to take on some of the real world things like paradoxes and traumas, child and parent relationships,ect.
it translates really well on a grand cosmic level
@GuyLambertUK
I didn’t like or understand the switch to Capaldi to start with, probably because of his brilliantly-played former famous role…but by the end of his era as the Dr I was very sad to see him go. It felt deep, grown up and quite mind-bending. And I loved his Rock God moments 🤩
@cathbal66
I really like Capaldi and thought the start of S10 was great, but otherwise I didn’t click with the era at all. I don’t know why really, there was something too dark and too pessimistic about it. Am excited to revisit now though, I think there’s a lot to enjoy
@FletcherNoise
Yeah for sure. I quite admire Heaven Sent but not sure I liked it. I felt the show had drifted away from family TV at that point. Will definitely have to revisit it all
@GuyLambertUK
I didn't like the way this incarnation was portrayed at the start of his tenure. (Did Moffat admit this was an mistake or did I dream it?!) Preferred his later seasons.
