17 months ago Copy That was confined to a box in Victoria with a fractured leg. Tonight he won the $1million Race by Grins, having also having won his second NZ Cup in November. Copy That is a wonderful horse for plenty of reasons but the biggest one is his heart.

Mark Purdon: “I’ll be honest, on Wednesday I was worried because Heaven Rocks thrashed him in track work but he is just a different horse on racenight. He knows what he is here for. But that is pretty satisfying after the setback. He is special.”

Regardless of how Boom Time runs in the Japan Cup tomorrow, the fact Cory Parish is riding in the race is one of the great racing fairytales of recent years.
