Finished Nana ✅
Thread:
From the start Ai Yazawa makes it clear this series doesn't pull any punches, and when things get raw, they hit hard. And the way the characters deal with these events yet indirectly trap themselves can be even more gut-wrenching at times.

AoT fans for the most part are cool people, it's just that the toxic minority is so outrageous the fandom as a whole gets a rep for being the worst
First: not understanding the concept of cycles
Second: not comprehending the dialogue
And finally being unable to recognize the bigger picture.
You managed to accomplish all of these things in a single tweet

Also, why do people care about what he draws during his free time? It's his choice as an artist to draw what he feels like doing, he's under no obligation to follow what his fans want.
Respectfully this take sucks. That tree panel itself is one of the best things about the chapter and story as a whole. It capitalizes on so many things and wraps up the story so well. Without it the ending would be somewhat worse for me
With everyone talking about AoT character lists, I must say that Eren is on a tier of his own in terms of the cast. No other AoT character will ever be on his level.
The way Nana achieved these things is by organically telling a story about people's lives centering around music and relationships. Whether it be fated or not, Nana makes it apparent that reality doesn't always coincide with our dreams and hopes.
Don't want to make this thread an in-depth analysis or something, but I think the way Nana really explores human connection, dreams, reality, meaning in life, and more is incredibly poignant and powerful.
To close out the thread, I'll say this manga was one of the best things I've read. Definitely going in my top 5. And one of the finest casts to top it off. Best characters to me are Nana O, Shin, Yasu, Takumi, and Nana K.

Man, she's much better than people think. She actually had development in various ways, even if they were small compared to someone like Eren, they added a lot to her character. She's more than just a strong fighter and Eren's lover.
It's made painfully obvious that the way the cast of Nana sustains their relationships, or really define the word 'relationship' in the first place, is quite problematic. Yasu himself points this out too.
It's pretty insane how stacked the cast actually is lmao. There are so many phenomenally written characters that also leave a strong emotional impact. And this is just the main cast we're talking about. The side cast offers a lot as well too.
To close it off, the cast of Nana is so impressive to me. The way Yazawa makes every character feel 'whole' and really explores the main cast well is something that I can't quite get over.
However, this is not to say the message this story offers is bleak. In fact, that's completely untrue. Although some of Nana's characters make some really painful mistakes and do morally wrong things, it's very obvious what Yazawa wants us to take away.
Attack on Titan (reread) - 10/10
Picked up on more thematic substance early on, genius foreshadowing, and cast i found better than ever. Overall fleshed out its themes very strongly despite some execution woes near the end. Still a masterpiece in my book.
Still an amazing final panel that leaves us with a lot to take in. Despite the cycle of hatred continuing, there was a generation who sought out to put an end to the cycle. As long as humanity exists there will always be potential to do good. Thats NOT cynical and nihilistic.
Finished Berserk manga ✅

Prior to reading this manga, I was aware of a couple spoilers which unfortunately lessened the impact of moments such as The Eclipse. Despite that, the journey that a lot of the characters go on and the overall themes make this series worth it.
