A silver lining that comes at a high price for those involved and the rights of all of us.
Membership of anti-monarchy group Republic almost doubles in wake of coronation arrests
@GrahamSmith_
Still extremely tiny numbers supporting a Republic. Approval ratings for the King and the working royals remains bigger than any politician of any political party
@ashleybyrneMCR
30% isnโt tiny. Support for the monarchy is collapsing. Approval ratings for Charles relatively low for heads of state. Itโs a corrupt institution. It has no moral justification.
@GrahamSmith_
I am more concerned about having a house of unelected lords and masses of "nobility" landowners which I find more of a problem than a King/Queen. Also if the monarchy was abolished what happened to all their wealth/land which is not really theirs. I am missing an actual plan.
@GrahamSmith_
A high price indeed. Being held for 16 hours, not knowing that it will end then. I was expecting you to be released almost immediately. The length of time was intended to increase anxiety and was completely unnecessary.
@GrahamSmith_
Always broadly supportive and saw the ridiculousness of the monarchy.. but this tipped me over to join. More power to the movement.. eventually it'll achieve its aims im sure. Get the younger gens on board and keep them there.. time will finally be the deathnell to the archaic.
