Our hearts are very heavy, the USDA Forest Service has confirmed the death of a firefighter on the El Dorado Fire. We lost this brave and selfless hero on September 17, 2020. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and firefighters during this incredibly difficult time.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Manny Soto, Fire Communications Supervisor. Manny has been a member of our Verdugo Dispatch Center for over 30 years. He joined the GFD in 1991 & had an outstanding career spanning 3 decades. We will never forget Manny.
This morning Glendale firefighters responded to a house fire on the 3000 block of Fairesta St. With quick actions taken by the firefighters, they were able to contain the fire to the detached garage. Several exotic reptiles were treated on scene with animal oxygen masks.

This morning Glendale Firefighters with assistance from the Burbank Fire Department aggressively attacked a fully engulfed detached garage fire that threatened a large apartment complex and the home on the 1100 block of Alameda Ave. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Your Glendale Firefighters had a busy weekend, quickly containing two house fires and this morning extinguishing an exterior sign on a commercial occupancy. Unfortunately two firefighters suffered minor injuries on these fires. We wish them a full and speedy recovery.

Your Glendale Firefighters quickly contained a fire involving multiple vehicles in an underground parking garage of a 3-story apartment building. A total of 5 vehicles were destroyed, several others damaged. No injuries and no living areas were affected.
E721 was first on scene today to the Eastbound 134 off ramp at Pacific to a fire burning in the gore point. The fire was quickly knocked down by E721 with E26 and E725 assisting.
