My grandfathers served in WWII. My father served in Vietnam. They inspired me to join the Navy. Servicemembers, veterans, and military families put our country first. Our men and women in uniform who made the ultimate sacrifice are not “losers” and “suckers”, they're heroes.

Today, we mourn the twelve victims of the shooting in Virginia Beach. They have been ripped from their communities and their families. Tomorrow, we must continue the fight to ensure that our schools, offices, and neighborhoods are safe from the threat of gun violence.
