Today a wicker basket came to light on one of the beds found during the excavations in Regio V in

... it has been reconstructed through a plaster cast from the void it left in the ashes of the 79 AD eruption of Vesuvius that buried the ancient city

A bronze candelabrum stood in the corner when the pyroclastic ash cloud from Mt Vesuvius filled this room in Pompeii in 79 AD … here it is again, after almost 2000 years, still in its place (almost)
