My kind & gentle dad died suddenly & unexpectedly 2 days ago—I’m on my way to London. I’ll quarantine with mum & then attend the funeral after quarantine ends. In his 70s, the Royal Free hired him as an administrator. It gave him more joy & meaning than any job he’d ever had.

Some people get very angry indeed when they see the evidence showing suicides were stable or declined during Covid. Why the anger? Isn’t it somewhat reassuring to know there wasn’t a “tsunami” of suicide? Regardless of the data, we must provide robust mental health services.

In the US alone, 37% of 12-17 year olds have been given at least one dose of a Covid vaccine (67% in Vermont!). That’s over 9 million kids. IMHO, it is a bit disingenuous of vaccine critics to say that too few kids have been given the vaccine to know if it is safe & effective.
