It was our first official day back at school today, with Year 7, 11, 12 and 13 on site. It was fantastic to welcome our new Year 7 boys, all of whom lined up impeccably this morning before engaging in a day of activities. We look forward to having all year groups back tomorrow.
In other sporting news, an outstanding achievement for Faris in Year 7, who recently won 2 gold medals for his age group at the Southern Pro Brazilian jiu-jitsu competition, beating the current European champion on his way to winning! Excellent effort! 🥋🥇🥇
Today, it was our Year 11's last day. Many of these boys will be rejoining us for 6th form, however it was a great chance to celebrate together and to say goodbye to those that are leaving. Good luck in your exams gents and have a great summer afterwards!

Day 1 completed ✅ We were delighted to welcome all of our boys into school 🏫 today for the new term. It was great to see so many happy, smiling 🙂 faces at the gate this morning and our amazing teachers loved meeting their new classes. More tomorrow? Doors open at 08:00.
Headline results - 36% achieved A*-A grades. 87% of grades achieved were A*-C. Average grade per A level entry was a B. 22% achieved grades that were all A*-A grades (up 10% from 2022). 56% of FBS boys achieved at least one of the top A*or A grades (a 4% increase from 2022).
GCSE results day took place at the school today. It was fantastic to see so many boys in attendance to receive their results as well as many staff who were in to support the boys.

Something a little different for staff at the school this evening...the first 'Great FBS Bake Off'! Participants for the first round were required to bake a cake from scratch, with very little instruction. Well done to Mr B Harris and Mr Elliott on the win this week! 🥮🧑🍳👩🍳🏆!
Headline results - 90.2% of all FBS GCSE grades were grade 4 or above: 83.5% received Grade 4+ in English & Maths. 68.8% received Grade 5+ in English & Maths. 29 boys achieved at least one grade 9; 26.6% of the cohort.
On Saturday, there were Rugby fixtures against Gunnersbury School which were held at the fantastic Grasshoppers Rugby Club ground. Well done to all boys involved, with wins for the 1st XV and our U14A team! 🏉🏆🎉

As mentioned in the last tweet, our second DofE practice expedition took place in Box Hill, Surrey last week. Photos from this expedition and the expedition from the week before can be seen below.
With one week to go to October half term, a mention for all the pupils who never fail to thank teachers on the way out of lessons. You make it all worthwhile. Whether you felt at times in the lesson you couldn’t do it, or you’ve been outside in the rain in PE, you’re incredible!
It was also superb to have an array of boys and staff involved in a video to promote and celebrate the many languages that are spoken in Europe (as well as at The Fulham Boys School)! Well done to all involved!

Last night, our Annual Awards Evening took place. It was tremendous to celebrate the achievements of our boys! We were also very lucky to be joined by 1500m World Champion Jake Wightman, who spoke exceedingly well about his experiences in sport, interviewed by our own Mr Wilson!
On Friday of last week, we held our annual Eisteddfod competition. Many boys were involved in various performances and they really showed a 'have a go' attitude. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day had by all, with Wilberforce House eventually taking home the winning cup.
Last Friday, our Staff played our Year 13 Leavers in a competitive match at Barn Elms. It was great to see so many boys, parents and staff in support. Thank you if you attended. The final result was a 4-1 win for the Year 13s. Well done gents!
Guvna B also stayed behind to chat with boys, take photos, sign autographs and he even gave a few boys house points on their conduct cards! Thank you so much for coming in, boys and staff really appreciated your time and the chance to hear about your own experiences!
Last week was another busy one at the school. Events included our two parent meetings on school changes, a trip to The Lyric Hammersmith, a well being afternoon and trip (for some) to Oxford Uni for Year 12 (📸⬇️), and finally, our second DofE practice took place.
It's great to see our Sixth Form involved in extra curricular activities! Last Thursday, our Year 12 & 13 artists visited the RIBA for an educational fair. The fair provided a chance for boys to consider and talk to professionals about their potential art studies in the future!

75.5% of all FBS GCSE grades achieved were a grade 5 or above. 75.2% of FBS students achieved at least five grade 5s or above. 40.2% of all FBS GCSE grades were graded 7 or above. Well done to all of our boys.

Today was European Day of Languages. It was great to see the school getting involved in celebrating this day, where boys were involved in an array of activities. Heads of House also prepared an assembly for European Languages Day, which will continue for other houses this week.

Today, our budding athletes and A-Level students travelled to Birmingham Uni. First stop was watching Mr Wilson complete his V02 max and lactate threshold tests in the performance centre 🏃💨. The boys also enjoyed a tour of the campus and the chance to see an athletics session.
What a rallying response we had to our annual Bingo Night last week! Thank you so much to all those who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to put on such a fun evening. We sold over 140 tickets and raised just over £1700.00!
Last Thursday we bid farewell to our Y13 boys as they embark on their exams. The assembly with our Y13s showed just how far our young men have come in their journey with FBS. Wishing all of our boys every success!

Yesterday, some of our boys enjoyed a terrific day at the Tech Slam Event, organised by the Chelsea FC Foundation and held at Stamford Bridge. Boys were involved in an array of activities geared towards engagement in STEM and were even lucky enough to have a stadium tour! ⚽️🏟️👍
Our first XI football team played Globe Academy in the first round of the Area Cup this afternoon. Despite wet and tricky conditions, our boys dominated from start to finish recording a 10 - 0 win! Well done gents, good luck in the next round! ⚽️👍
It was also brilliant today to have several trips taking place. Some of our Year 11s were completing geography field work, some of our Year 10s were on an art trip to Kew Gardens and the Tate Modern, and this afternoon, we've had Year 9 boys at St Paul's for a maths competition!

It was fantastic to see the majority of our new Year 7s taking part in the Thames Young Mariners activity day this past Saturday! The boys had the chance to paddle board, kayak and were also involved in raft building exercises. A great day had by all!
