try reading it again. Your question falls into the category of the questions i mentioned and is a completely valid question honestly , but it is exactly what I did not mean by that post.
There is also the argument of inhumanity of how the death penalty is implemented. Camus and Sartre described it thoroughly in their works. This inhumanity contradicts the humaneness of European values, but I don't want to indulge in this.
Anyway, life sentence is enough.

I also started studying pacifism because of Vinland Saga. Though many of the deep philosophical arguments can get caught up in criticisms from realists, Vinland Saga portraying pacifism pragmatically as "the real battle" to "find the first method" is so important.

Good on you, I think this is very mature and healthy and it should be the norm.
I am of the exact same opinion as you. It might be a little idealistic, but there is nothing wrong with idealism, as you explained very well yourself.
I wish more people agreed.
