⬇️ An important point. Chairman of Sage modellers presumes someone else in gvt is modelling the economic and social harm of a new lockdown. But no one is (and that’s not his fault). How can ministers decide how to “balance the harms” if they’re only given one side of the story?

Labour's Jackie Baillie is right: this is no longer about Salmond vs Sturgeon but the authority of parliament. Westminster would be outraged at the idea of the CPS interfering in a parliamentary inquiry. Scots deserve a parliament that does not take orders from the Crown Office.

Am not sure how Hammond can claim that May’s Plan means we will leave the EU on 29 March. In no meaningful way is this true. We are staying in (but with no influence) for a transition period that might - or might not - end in two years. It’s not Canada Plus, but Remain Minus.
