While everyone is rightfully drooling over what UE5 can do, ubisoft's Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora shows the world you don't need UE5 to create worlds with super detailed gfx. I mean... look at it! this is with DLSS Ultra Quality, rest on max (using --unlockmaxsettings)
So I'm replaying and reshooting one of gaming true masterpieces: God of War. (PS4Pro, in-game photomode). Trying to do more action oriented shots this time around as that's not my strongest point in in-game photography.
Crytek apparently doesn't want thousands of people posting screenshots of their game on social media and other sites. FTR I don't distribute any game asset; my camera tools only contain binaries compiled from my own code and not linked to any game asset.
But Crytek being Crytek, they can't help themselves and have to shoot themselves in their own feet. If I have to pull my Crytek 2/3 remastered photomode mods, which just add a photomode to these games, I will but I'll never create a custom photomode for any crytek game ever again
Baldur's Gate III (PC, own camera tools, Reshade (RTGI, Relight for custom lights, CinematicDOF)
Tools are currently a bit glitchy, hopefully I can finish them this weekend. Stay tuned!

"If you are experienced enough, you won't make mistakes". Eh, I have a CS degree and 30 years of professional experience. And yet, it took me 2 days to figure out very tiny values in a direction vector for movement get squashed using floats when the coords are in double. 1/2
I've made custom photomode mods for more games than anyone else on this planet; for more games than nvidia ansel + all games with a photomode combined. I always heard enthusiastic responses from game publishers and devs because they love the free advertising.

(PC, own camera tools/lighting tools/DOF, Reshade, lots of mods)
Four shots of the same small scene, shot 3&4 are of the exact same frame. Subtle spotlights added to help with lighting up darker areas. Check the DOF on the glasses in shot 3 :)
Red Dead Redemption 2. PC, Jedijosh' trainer, own photomode enhancements.
Used the trainer to teleport to a lot of different locations (just worked down the list) to take shots. Was a challenge as a location on its own is just that...
What's so cool (among many other things) in Horizon Forbidden West's Decima engine is that if you turn on the precipitation in the game world, it'll start to rain if the temperature is above 0 but if it's below 0 it'll snow :)
Sadie says, have a great 2020. So, let's do just that, shall we? (Red Dead Redemption 2, PC, photomode, own photomode enhancement tools, reshade, SRWE)
More Panam.

(PC, own camera tools, mods, reshade (Prod80's magic rectangle for black depth fog, own Cinematic DOF for ... dof :P, lightroom post processing)
A game like Baldur's Gate 3 which is played with a camera far away from the characters has way better models for characters than Starfield, it's a night-and-day difference. When did Jimenez release his subsurface scattering paper? 2015? Right. Bethesda still hasn't read it.
I released my Elden Ring camera tools:
Camera/hud toggle/gamespeed/pause/higher LODs/CA & Vignette removal/more!
As it requires you to disable the anti cheat, read the readme.
It's free till March 10th as we could all use some positive stuff atm.
Enjoy!
I was at a .NET conference today. I had a great time, met great people. One thing makes me sad tho. Of the 200+ people there, just 2 women. We as an industry have to step up to fix our diversity problem.

camera tools. Works in-game and in photomode so you don't have to fight with the dreadful controls any longer. Features: camera control/fov control/hotsampling. Credits:

Enjoy!

(PC, own camera tools, Reshade, Mods). Finally managed to make lookat control for both your character and a spawned NPC work properly so you can control them individually for easy posing. B&W and Color variants of same scene, different time of day.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (PC, own camera tools, 100+ mods, Reshade).
For the people who want to ask me which mods I use, go to nexus, and search for Ultimate High End Mod List and pick the ones you like + the ones not on that list. Be creative!
Game marketing is weird. Publishers give out PC keys to their games to some people early to allow them to create nice screenshots to post on social media. However, the tools they need to do so are made by one guy in the Netherlands (namely, me) who has to wait till launch day 😂
Finished Dishonored: Death of the Outsider. For a DLC it's just amazing, it puts a lot of full blown games to shame (looking at you, RE3). All shots of my playthrough: (has link to the tools I made for it)
Spider-Man Remastered tools v1.0! full camera control / camera paths / hud toggle / Higher LODs / better sunlight control / pause / game speed control etc. etc.
#CYBERPUNK2077
camera tools update v1.0.1! New: Time of day control, HUD toggle (photomode and gameplay) and you can now control the fov when enabling the camera during gameplay:
