11th June (1966). Catholic John Scullion died after being fatally injured by the UVF. Almost 4 years before the Provisional IRA even existed, Unionists kickstarted the conflict that would last decades. RIP John.

@FrankoSerpico A despicable sectarian murder that people went to prison for. But the tensions around the official IRA and the anniversary of 1916 didn’t help. Murder is however always unacceptable.

@BMacMathghamha "But the tensions around the official IRA and the anniversary of 1916 didn’t help" Sounds like something straight out of the Paisley play book.

@FrankoSerpico Indeed so, though they set an elderly Protestant widow on fire, weeks earlier when petrol bombing a Catholic owned pub. They even fired at a unionist Mp’s house in the hopes of getting republicans blamed for it. And attacked Holy Cross Girls School too

@FrankoSerpico The IRA were carrying out Sectarian mass murders & killings from they formed in 1919. The Provisional IRA/Provisional Sinn Fein that formed in 1969/70 were just another IRA with a letter in front of it that carried on with that sectarian murder policy.

@FrankoSerpico By the same token we can say that the Border Campaign kickstarted the troubles. Nobody has ever said that that the troubles were kickstarted by the formation of PIRA. Straw man much?

@FrankoSerpico It's been repeatedly said over the years, that prior to the murders in 1966' carried out by Gusty Spence and his UVF gang, that he had met with some unionist party members in their Glengall St headquarters. Has there ever been a denial?

@FrankoSerpico Loyalists started the conflict but the IRA finished it, the end of the false state of Northern Ireland is near so if loyalists want to stay here you need to start to behave your drug days are nearly gone

@FrankoSerpico Wrong, when you force 40000 protestants to leave Ireland for fear of their own live, and they had to resettle in Northern Ireland, that's what starts trouble.

@FrankoSerpico Here we are all these years later and we have Loyalist paramilitaries feuding among themselves. Unionists political leaders working hand in hand with Loyalist paramilitarie leaders. Shameful. Rip John Scullion.
