“We didn’t look at the game. We didn’t talk about the game,”
#Halo
Season 1 showrunner Steven Kane says of his prep with the game’s developer, 343 Industries. “We talked about the characters and the world. So I never felt limited by it being a game.”
Elden Ring devs before launch: you should be able to beat the game in about 30 hours or so.
Reality: you should be able to get through the first area in about 30 hours or so.
About to ruffle some feathers with this one…
it takes MORE skill to play and be good at halo than call of duty.
(yes, I will die on this hill)

Watching people retroactively try to dog on Halo 3 is hilarious.
You can say whatever you want but at the end of the day.
Scoreboard
Its legacy is cemented.
Honestly Halo Infinite should just like add every weapon from every Halo. Every weapon is awesome and more weapons in Halo is awesome. Seriously if you don't want more weapons you hate Halo which is dumb because Halo is awesome.
No forge or campaign co op for Halo Infinite at launch.
I was worried about this based on how they were talking in their preview events.
People will defend this anyway but quite frankly it's unacceptable and an even bigger missed opportunity.
Halo 5s lessons went unlearned
An obvious omage.
If anything its an acknowledgement of how huge the gta6 announcement will be.
To see people act like 343 is trying to "copy" gta marketing is missing the plot. If anything they're fucking humbling themselves.
Relax on this one folks.
Bruh they really gonna make my boy Isaac, an intentionally lowly everyman engineer.... fight a genetically modified super soldier, an intergalactic space bounty hunter, and the literal bane of Hell.
My guy can't catch a break.
Watching professional devs lose their shit and publicly criticize Elden Ring is just bizarre.
It defies a lot of what they believed to be objective in game design.
They were wrong.
Making games is hard. It's challenging. And requires coordination on a massive scale.
But the idea that games have no choice but to be LESS than they were 10 years ago because there are MORE expectations is simply paradoxical and I refuse to believe it.
Wow, Elden Ring has lost 50% of its players in just one month. Rough launch, not enough content. Silence from the developer and no roadmap or battle pass in sight. Dead game?
The best part about this new wave of live service games is that they're not even providing regular content. They're not even a service.
They are small content light games that you then must wait months for to see true meaningful additions.
And I'm not just speaking of Halo
Dude Halo Infinite is whack.
I keep getting like tons of kills but the score just keeps staying at zero. 343 fix your game.
Also that dumb flag weapon? Completely useless. Needs a buff big time.
Two new ways up to the attic on The Pit 🔥🔥
Halo 3 is going on 14 years old and there’s still so much to discover.
I can’t wait to mess with

physics!
Alright I've had enough. This community literally can't even talk about helmets without going for each other's throats.
For the past 5 years I've been told to leave if I don't like it and it's just not worth fighting any more.
I got 3 Halo vids I'm committed to, then I quit.
It's kind of crazy. On Infinites first day of finally receiving new content it feels like the story of the day is finding out what has been lost due to the abrupt and unforseen changes.
Feels like this game just can't get a win.
This console launch feels off. Not even referring to Halo but neither side seems "ready".
I feel like we haven't seen what either console can do in regards to features and performs. And neither seem to have a solid line up of launch games.
Only Fromsoft could create stories like this with their design. A man named "let me solo her" awaits to be summoned outside of the hardest boss in the game and beats it for you.
They have become a legend in Elden Ring.
Speed means nothing in gaming.
All that matters is INTENSITY of experience.
People are willing to walk for 15 minutes without conflict in BRs because each conflict matters more.
Players are willing to prep for 6 minutes and have 30 seconds of action in Siege...
Today was not great. We always try to do our best for you and today we missed the mark.
We hear you, and we’re reversing our Xbox Live Gold pricing updates.
Right now with every game trying to be a live service and keep you playing for a decade, strong 10-12 hour experiences feel rare but extra valuable to me.
Like its almost a relief when a game is just like "we're going to be amazing for 10 hours and call it a day"
Anyone else?
The BR is Halo 3s most important gun and it's an inconsistent frustrating piece of shit.
Everyone still loves Halo 3.
Now imagine a game like that but with a projectile utility weapon executed adequately.
Its crazy. Halo Infinite could hot drop 10 new maps, forge, double the playlists, and triple the modes next week and I'd still probably have to delete Infinite to make space for Elden Ring.
Halo feels quiet to me. Not sure what it is.
Even during the Halo 5 days it felt like there was banter and constant discussions. Not feeling as much of that now.
This is true but 343s own words point towards an attempt at a "wider fanbase"
But truth be told Infinites struggles have nothing to do with a fanbase that is hard to please. The game isn't polished, It lacks content, it lacks meaningful incentives, and it's not good enough
Honestly don't know what to say. The latest video is officially my most watched video ever.
Didn't expect that in the slightest after being gone so long. You made it all worth it.
Thank you.
Counter Strike releasing another entry without sprint and modern mobility mechanics.
I'm sure it's going to fail in the market this time I'm just sure of it. No way it can survive.
"We all know you'll be back for season 2"
Seriously have no idea where the assuredness is coming from. What about season 2 is so enticing? What's going to keep players engaged this time?
No issue with people who like the game. But this confidence seems completely unfounded
People posting pictures of them uninstalling Halo Infinite is so obnoxious thing.
1- No one cares
2- You're doing it to farm bandwagon doom scroll likes
3- It's the lamest form of "protest"
4- No one cares
5- We all know you'll be back for Season 2.
Halo should have spent the last 6 years making the best BR possible with all the available lore while using forge world to create multiple maps from previous Halo’s as the POI’s. Do that and just update H5 competitive settings for tournaments, arena shooters just stale AF man
Something I've been thinking about a lot.
If Halo never returns to its roots and goes back to its old gameplay and style. How many of you would be interested in a spiritual successor to those games?
New franchise, new universe, but built on Classic Halo principles?
@MartyTheElder
I took it as the arbiter saying it "wouldn't be that easy to kill me"
And so when arbiter says it at the end after Hood says "I can't believe he's dead" when talking about Chief
Arby looks to the stars and says "I wouldn't count him out yet"
Respawn's absolutely proving themselves to be one of the best developers in the industry. Theyve put out nothing but gold so far and while their MP is great they also nailed SP in Titanfall 2. Seeing them make a SP Star Wars game is down right exciting and shows their versatility
Next year we will get a 30 second teaser of his goggles and official confirmation that it's in development and then 2 years after that we might see gameplay.
Wait wtf happened to get this response? The game has been out for weeks so why is this now all blowing up today?
Yikes.
Just an FYI 343 listens to feedback. I encourage you to give it, but if things turn hostile it just makes us all look bad. Keep it clean
343’s community lead posted a lengthy message on Reddit explaining some of the decisions in Halo Infinite playlist selection and more. Well worth a read.
It's not just the fact Elden Ring has reviewed so highly that's impressive.
It's that it has done so utilizing a formula that many consider to not have mainstream appeal.
To receive universal acclaim by abandoning modern gaming conventions....that's what astonished me
343s probably shocked at the outrage over the Halo Infinite coatings debacle and removal of custom color schemes. But it's like...this is the same fanbase that got mad you added colored undersuits. You should expect this level of scrutiny by now 😂
Been seeing a lot of people who think they're clever post meme. The problem is you release it 3 months after the rest of the game and you miss the launch where MILLIONS of people are playing for the first time and thus you lose your greatest opportunity to hook them.
I'm tired of arguing about movement in Halo. You're not going to convince either side that the other is better.
They've both made their case....they're both valid.
I say make games for both.
As a classic fan Im fine with a once a generation type deal. Let's just do it already
Honestly don't see a problem here. Heatwave has decently slow projectiles and also requires you to line up players vertically as well to make sure the full line hits.
This player landed a good shot with what is in my opinion a skill testing weapon.
The next Halo need not be afraid of changes. Many Halo fans will hate this but I would love it if the new leadership at 343 had enough conviction in their vision to stick a middle finger at everyone & say we will build Halo our way & it will be masterful.
Halo 5 felt like community discussion was at least 80% based on design and gameplay ideals.
Right now 95% of Halo discourse is Ad Hominem attacks, personal insults, vitriol, and very little actual gameplay discussion.
We have lost the capacity to even talk with one another
Elden Ring just hit its all time peak a WEEK after launch.
I cant beleive it. Not only is the game holding its growing.
Its retention is INSANE for a game people thought would be too hard, too obtuse, or too slow.
It is defying the industry and thus hopefully changing it
Kinda crazy to see the honeymoon phase at work again. You warn people about it, you tell them to be ready for it.
And yet when the game launched everyone went bonkers and praised Halo to the high heavens.
And now I see extreme disappointment. Hmmm

My biggest fear with the whole "Halo is a casual game!" is the inevitable over correction.
Halo being both a casual and competitive game simultaneously isn't just possible....its one of its greatest strengths and its TRUE identity.
That's what we should truly strive for.
I may never use my own gameplay footage for videos again. I swear if you miss a single shot at any point in your video you will get shit like "oh your gameplay is bad so you clearly don't know what you're talking about"
And it's just stupid.
This is a cycle I've seen repeated for a decade. When something is blatantly bad the "positives" will be dramatically over praised.
Halo 4: horrible MP but best story in the series!
H5: horrible story but best MP in the series!
Infinite: no content but great foundation!
Most comments I receive all unanimously enjoy Infinites core gameplay.
They’re excited for a potential Battle Royale, done correctly, and to have fun custom games return.
Something they can all relax and play with their friends after work.
2/2
It hurts me everytime someone says a first person shooter needs any one thing to be successful or attract an audience....
As counter strike sits there with its 800,000 concurrent players.
Pain
Halo is not an arena shooter.
Outside of even starts/map pick ups what does it have in common with actual arena shooters? Almost nothing.
It's unique. So let's not just throw it under an umbrella it doesn't even belong in and then say that umbrella doesn't work.
A cautionary tale for live services.
"Its ok to ship now, we can just fix it later"
"Oh wait the reputation of the game is tanked and we don't have a large enough playerbase to justify the resources to continue with support?"
"Welp.... moving on"
This is one of those arguments I really dislike. I don't want the multiplayer to be free if they have to make the game worse to pull it off. I don't want to compromise a single ounce of the experience for the sake of a f2p model.
I'd happily pay $60+ for a complete game.
There is no need to design your game for "casuals" or "competitve" players.
There is only good and bad. Make a good game and the rest will sort itself out.
