Said it a couple of months ago that he is India's greatest sportsperson and ended up getting some interesting replies :) It doesn't mean I don't respect Anand, SRT, Bindra, Sindhu, Kohli or Dhyanchand. But he is virtually dominating a sport that Indians weren't supposed to do.

Suryakumar isn't a number 4 batter in ODIs. Hangs back in the crease. Quintessential t20 player. He can be that surprise package who gets you a couple of 50 off 30 balls while batting at say 6 in ODIs. The problem is, there is no slot available for him at 6.

Kuldeep Yadav. For me, he is the player of the series. I know Jaiswal scored over 700 runs. In my opinion, KY made the telling difference. Invariably, he goes for the wickets. The big break. He can succeed across conditions.

Rinku Singh - Treasured gem. Game awareness. He knows when to attack. And when to rotate the strike. He has unremitting belief that he can score say 20-30 off one over. Rarely lose the shape on his shots.

Harry Brook isn't 'overrated'. He has loads of skill. Great wrists. But his technique isn't exactly suited to playing at 3 v the moving ball. Back foot trigger and good/fullish length can trouble him. But whenever Aussies overcompensated with full deliveries, those wrists

IND need one bowler who specialises in hitting the deck for AUS. Not just a bowler who can hit the deck but someone who specialises in it. Prasidh Krishna - Tall, high-arm and hit the deck. He needn't bowl much in the slog. Avesh Khan - Hit the deck and yorkers.

Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh. Ideally, India needed one more specialist pace bowler who can bowl with a high release and hit the deck for AUS conditions.

More than anything else, I find it interesting that fans believe Bumrah hasn't touched over 150 on the speed-gun. I mean he is from recent times. He was around 150 during that AUS tour in 2018-19. And ended up clocking 153.2 in the Adelaide Test I believe.

In an IPL 2021'game, when some of the other batters looked shell-shocked by Nortje's ability to hit the pitch very hard, Sanju Samson seemed to be handling him like a normal bowler. Today, he is playing a fine hand on a spin-friendly deck. Versatile batter.

In this over, Rohit hasn't tried to muscle through even once. Or rather relied more on timing. Noted it even after the WC that he seemed to be trying to play someone else's game. Rohit is at his best when he relies more on timing.

Bumrah is comfortably India's most complete pace bowler in Test cricket. If he plays around 15-20 more tests, then there is no doubt (not even arguable) about who is India's best pace bowler in tests. HTD skills? Yes. Swing? Old and new. He has done it. Seam? Yes. Variations?
