There are +2500 stores and growing. Yes the stock is not very liquid but that’s the point. They are employee-owners. Most are on it for the long haul.

So true. I have two friends from my hometown who did just that. One of them retired a wealthy man in his early 40s. Headed to a Publix he opened in 2004 as soon as I hit send.

You are correct. I have a friend from high school who retired a millionaire a few years ago. He started when we were in high school in the late 70s.

That used to be the UPS model. That has changed significantly over the last 20 yrs. It began when they went public. It has accelerated under an outside CEO who has sought to change the culture and now the company is no better than any other Corp. It's sad.
