As I posted earlier on another thread; 25 years in the FBI - four field offices and two FBIHQ assignments- I’m not even aware of an FBI investigation that involved a misdemeanor charge/arrest, much less how it was handled. This is 100% DOJ driven.
To any federal LEO or prosecutor, past or present:
Have you EVER had a misdemeanor offender who agreed to voluntarily appear in court for an initial appearance - and does so - then be cuffed for transport to court and THEN CUFFED TO A BELLY CHAIN IN COURT?
EVER?

We did a few but usually part of a plea bargain or in exchange for cooperation and assistance. This case and that on Roger Stone are part of a DOJ that is out of control. I can't believe the FBI allowed this to happen. Show some class and respect!!

Hoover successfully kept the more politically leaning DOJ at bay for almost 50 years. It took another 30 years after his death for DOJ to successfully claw them back under their full control.

I got transferred and moved my family 6 times for the FBI and the country. These guys are supposed to piss away a career, family, mortgage, college tuition payments, etc on principle as you see it? Have you faced these kinds of choices or are you just twittering?

Changing decisions and how to have a subject brought into the court system (arrest, etc.) are policy DOJ decisions. A whistleblower can't complain about policy. The FBI Director's supervisor is the AG. The AG's supervisor is the President. We don't like the policies, we change…

That has been my question since the beginning. And also, why are misdemeanor j6 defendants going to prison? I doubt that any persons convicted of federal parading 2020 race riots went to prison.
