No time for a deep dive at this moment, but just discovered that LAPD has just graduated its first class of new officers that include DACA "residents".
Problem -- DACA residents are not allowed by federal law to possess firearms.

Yeah, that’s just wrong. But it’s going to take a lawsuit to get the LAPD and the City of Los Angeles to recind the policy of hiring DACA candidates. And I’m generally a supporter of the DACA program.

Me too. But Congress has to figure out a path to citizenship before they are charged with enforcing the laws of a country they are not citizens of. They would probably be terrific police officers. God knows my relatives earned their paths to success with jobs in the public works,…
