My newest poem! Well more like un-sent letters than a poem.
This is the much more personal and openly revealing than most of my poetry & writing, so I'm curious to see if that personalness and specificity makes it more relatable or less so. Let me know! 😃

I generally don't take much advice from blabbermouths at all. You want good advice: find a quiet person.
Find someone who listens, observes, and contemplates.
One reason I love books is that, when you find a great author, you'll get 100 hours of wisdom in 1 hour of reading.

The government will never tax the rich as much as (let alone more than) they tax poor & working people.
That's because the government is the rich.
To tell the powers that be to tax the rich is to tell them to tax themselves.
No, they will always tax you to profit themselves.
As you become more confident with yourself, you become more compassionate with others.
As you become more secure with what you're doing, you become more accepting of what others are doing.
Everyone thinks their beliefs are true at the time they believe them.
Everyone does what they think is best at the time they do it.
Forgive others, unconditionally.
There's no 'should'. There's no 'I would've".
If you were fully in their shoes, you'd do exactly what they do.
I use the following three phrases interchangeably (i.e. to mean the exact same thing):
- "being an addict"
- "being a slave to temptation"
- "being a prisoner to the comfort zone"
In my book, "In It Together", I discuss the fact that all humans are on the addiction spectrum.
My newest poem! I just wrote this today. Let me know what you think! 😀

"Do or do not; there is no try. To try is to lie. In other words, to see yourself as a failure is to lie to yourself. To tell others you are a failure is to lie to them."
It's a very comforting lie for those lacking the joy of free-spirited inner peace.
"You can be free and happy, and still inspiration finds you and moves through you. You become like the artist rather than the slave, like the free playful child playing freely, rather than the prisoner. Life becomes like recess rather than an anxious test. You are free, without…
Free-spirited inner peace (a.k.a. true happiness) comes from understanding and firmly focusing on The Dichotomy of Control: The difference between what you can control versus what you cannot.
Beware of words that conflate those two things: such as the word "change" or "try".
My newest poem! I just wrote this from start to finish this morning, and then made the video afterwards. (And by this morning, I mean when I woke up around noon.)

I usually avoid the word "mistake" altogether, intead replacing it with a phrase like "learning opportunity" or "growth catalyst".
Whatever you call it, set a reasonable budget for it.
Expecting yourself to make zero typos is self-abuse. Expectation is abuse. I never expect.
Multitasking creates a false sense of urgency, which is stressful, exhausting, and distracting.
Not only will you be much more productive if you monotask, but also (by no coincidence) you will be less stressed, less exhausted, more inspired, and more graceful.

Twice.
Like in the movie The Sixth Sense, the end of the book seems to turn many things upside down: A world of seeming problems becomes revealed as a beautiful world absent of evil and problems at all.
If a so-called heavenly world is like a stew with no salt, or like a dry life with no tears, or like yin with no yang, then I don't want it.
To those who would call that heaven, I say I prefer this world to that heaven.
For me, this salty world, with it's salty tears, is best.

Hell isn't a place in a space. It's a spiritual attitude & mindset.
Hellishness, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.
Two people can be standing right next to each other in spacetime, touching hands, and one can be in hell and the other in heaven.

When you fully and unconditionally accept unavoidable bodily feelings, there is nothing 'bad' about them.
They are the proverbial cards you are dealt, like the weather.
But if you CHOOSE to resent them, then that may be a different story.
I choose inner peace over resentment.
When it comes to incredible success and achieving big goals...
You're better off working smart than hard, but you're much better off working smart AND hard.
And long.
Many people are willing to work hard for 30 minutes a day, or a few hours a week.
They won't win.
HOW MUCH THINKING IS OVERTHINKING

The world is much more of a mirror than we usually realize.
If your life seems to be filled with complex problems and hard to solve troubles, that is likely a symptom of--and reflection of--your own overthinking.
Thinking causes trouble more often than trouble causes thinking.
Don't pass up the exceptionally great for the merely good.
Don't take advice just because it's merely not the worst. Don't take advice just because it's merely not bad.
For the best chance of success, you need the advice that's the best of the best.
