Popped to Earlswood Lakes yesterday and saw these floating barley straw bales on the lower lake. Installed by the Environmental Agency - the idea is as they sink, they decompose to oxygenated the water, surpress the algae and improve the water quality for the wildlife. Cool eh?

Went litter picking in #Earlswood today with a small group of lovely volunteers. My 8year old son and I litter picked Victoria Road and Redstone Road and cleared 14 drains. Such as the one in this photo, which was clogged with 4 plastic bottles, several wet wipes and a sock.

Urgh. Priory Park is having yet more money spent on it. The councils level of park bias is unreal. The outdoor gym at Memorial Park desperately needs an upgrade, the play equipment has 2 (long term) broken apparatus, and don't even get me started on the toilets! Sort it out!

I've recently found out that glass bottles and aluminium cans from pubs/ restaurants in the borough are mot recycled because it's classed as commercial recycling... Even tho glass and cans are infinitely recyclable 😱 Anyone else alarmed by this? @reigatebanstead

When it's your birthday, you can put the word 'birthday' in front of all the mundane normal activities you're doing. For example, you can have a birthday wee, or a cup of birthday coffee, or put on your birthday socks, or go for a birthday walk. Makes everything more special.

Fun fact. Last year I applied to the council for funding for an electric cargo bike to carry all my pop-up event stuff around. I didn't get the funding so bought a £40 wheelie bin off Amazon instead. Now I'm just the mad person who wheels a yellow wheelie bin around.

1/2 Temporary toilet facilities will arrive in Memorial Park, #Redhill today (15 June) ahead of the busy summer season and Priory Park, #Reigate in readiness for the closure of the pavilion toilets for essential drainage works. Both should be operational for Monday 19 June.

🧵Scotland's pavement parking ban comes into force today. This is great news and follows years of campaigning by @RNIBScotland and other charities. Pavement parking is a serious barrier to blind and partially sighted people getting around safely.

Yesterday was my sons 8th birthday. One of my favourite things about @EarlswoodSchool is you're allowed to wear your own clothes on your birthday. It means you can instantly spot a kid who's birthday it and wish them a happy birthday. @earlswoodsch
