You couldn’t get one because of your passport, the same as when I lived abroad until I could prove my address, he couldn’t get one because the bank were against freedom of speech ,
Sadly you are on the side of those against freedom of speech, so I’m using my own personal choice…
I remember when I moved to London I couldn’t open an account at Lloyd’s in Crouch End because they didn’t accept the Irish passport as valid ID. I didn’t go on Newsnight to complain; I just went next door to Barclays. Nigel is such a drama Queen.

Coutts say he’s below the wealth requirements to hold an account. Nothing about freedom of speech. Plenty of shit people also do business with them.

Have you read the report on why he had it closed? It’s not nearly the same. Also

Depends whether you include treason & spreading falsehood & racism as free speech/legitimate political views. Bank’s language arguably immoderate but farage is a vile, disgusting creature.

Only one slight issue with your tweet...it falls on its arse because Farage was offered a NatWest account...but the "man o'the PayPal" wants an exclusive private bank account, so he's doing his usual, politicising grievance (& lying IMHO)😵💫

Do you really think that private UK banks have problems with foreign passports? Most of their confidential customers are likely to be wealthy Saudi, Russian, Chinese, etc
