The Jean Valjean theory of crime whereby most criminals are desperately poor but otherwise decent humans who are simply striving to survive is almost entirely backward. Most criminals are exploitative and impulsive bullies whose behavior impoverishes everybody around them.

A major problem with the humanities is that narcissism has shrunk the imagination. People are too myopic to engage in literature on its own terms. Everything must be hip and relevant and to speak to the reader's own idiosyncratic preoccupations.

Progressives acknowledge, indeed obsess about, the fact that diversity is a source of tension, antipathy, and conflict, but their solution is to *increase* diversity while repeating the platitude "diversity is our strength" as if mere repetition will make it true.

4) Originally, I thought this had to be a mistake, so I looked up the report for the NBA. The NBA is 82.4% non-white and, sure enough, it gets an A+ for diversity. In a country that is roughly 60% white, a league that is 18% white is really, really diverse.

The affirmative action paradox is when progressives argue both: 1) Actually, white people benefit most from affirmative action. But also 2) If we end affirmative action, society will be destroyed because whites and Asians will take over elite universities.

Individual differences in intelligence are caused partially by genes. Many phenotypic differences among races are caused by genes (e.g., skin color, hair texture, lactase persistence, et cetera), but magically the large IQ gaps between blacks and whites are 0% genetically caused?

Here's something that is absolutely critical to understand: the race science creeps, the Sailer types, work hard to give the impression that genetic researchers and other scientists agree with them. But they don't. The real scientists ALSO think Sailer and co. are racist goons

The progressive left's contradictory view about corporations is that they are singularly selfish and greedy but also overpay white men because apparently they dislike blacks and women more than they like money.

I actually sympathize with a black person who laments that he or she was suspected of being an undeserving token at a university. But that's exactly why affirmative action is pernicious: It makes skepticism about other people's qualifications *rational.*

For many decades, our colleges and universities have promoted an anti-Western ideology that like a poison is slowly destroying the vital tissues of our civilization.

An anti-white ideology has long prevailed on college campuses, which also practice literal and explicit racism against white people in admissions. That should have been a scandal long ago.

Ridley Scott followed Alien, one of the greatest science fiction films ever, with Blade Runner, one of the greatest science fiction films ever. He never reached those heights again, but few ever reach them at all. He did. Twice in a row.
