Every war must end, and the Ukraine war can only end with the agreement of the elected President of the Russian Federation. To call the present holder of that post a "war criminal", to accuse him of genocide are emotional luxuries disallowed by the exingencies of the situaton

The 2014 war never ended and this war will not end. With Russia in its current state it cannot. If we want peace only a Germany 1945 solution would achieve that. Is it feasible? Who knows.

Perhaps we have signaled our understanding that this war will end only when the Russian Federation no longer exists in its current form. Then it wouldn't matter who signs the capitulation on behalf of what's left of the Evil Empire.

Wars generally first end on the battlefield and only then the battlefield outcomes are confirmed by diplomatic agreements..

I don’t know… these seem to me as unresolved issues since 1922… We simply can’t allow Russia back into the fold like nothing has happened… we’ve seen their true colours… let them sit out for a generation or so… They must pay the piper … we must pay the piper …

History has proven time and time again that appeasement only works in favor of he aggressor. If the war criminal is given what he wants he will not stop, he will crave more since he was successful. Evil cannot be allowed to triumph. Genocide cannot be acceptable.
