They needed a poster for #JohnCarpenter ’s #TheThing in a hurry. So I conceived it, painted it, and my art was delivered to the studio all within 24 hrs. In fact, when they put it under the glass to photograph it, the paint stuck to the glass because the thing was still wet!

#Hook was another magical project! Dustin Hoffman invited me over to his home to discuss his likeness. When he opened the door, he was in a robe, holding a gallon of ice cream! He didn’t offer me any. On the art, my wife Dylan is a mermaid & my son Christian and I are pirates!

I did a comp for #BladeRunner in ‘82. The studio went with a different concept. Years later I painted a redesigned finish. In 2007, #RidleyScott wanted it for “The Final Cut”. It wasn’t lost like tears in the rain after all! It’s one of my favorite pieces, & I don’t do favorites.

For #BackToTheFuture III, it was decided that 'Clara' was going to join 'Marty' & 'Doc' at the last minute. I had to paint her separately & they dropped her into the poster mechanically. Later, I cut her out & stripped her into the finished painting...and the rest is history!

My #RaidersOfTheLostArk art disappeared for nearly 30 yrs! One day I got a call from an art dealer. He was in touch w/ “somebody” who had it, & would I like to buy it? I paid the ransom. It was faded from the sun, so I repainted it to pristine condition! #GeorgeLucas now owns it.

I created this “King Lear”piece, a fictional film starring none other than #ArnoldSchwarzenegger , as a fun ‘easter egg’ in #StevenSpielberg ’s “The Lost World”. It can be seen as a standee in a Blockbuster video store, seconds before a bus crashes into the front of the building.

#HarryPotter fans thought my poster for the first film captured the spirit of the books and the movie. The sequel I painted for myself as the studio switched midstream to photography. My “Chamber of Secrets” art is in the possession of The Society of Illustrators in New York.
