29 yrs ago today i became WPC 2504. Saw lots of stuff I wish I hadn't, smelt things I'd like to forget, climbed too many fences, got punched, got swore at most days, heard some last breaths. I changed stuff too, made life safer, saved a few, & held lots of very grateful hands.πŸ’™

@DonnaDlm71 I joined 29 years ago. I’m still a WPC and my birthday is 25.04…my collar number is only three digits though. Congratulations for getting this far.

@DonnaDlm71 You have my admiration mixed with some envy! With the benefit of hindsight think I would have loved that career. Such a tough job but rewarding job. Bet it changed a huge amount over the 29 years. Probably not always for the better either!

@DonnaDlm71 How long were you a police officer for? and do they still use WPC or are men and women all PC’s now?

@juliegawler1 Did 27 years. I always used WPC, whole career, personally I liked to be identified as a woman, often that mattered to members of the public for all sorts of reasons. It tends not to be used widely now though but its still out there!
