@DonnaDlm71 You’ve let emotion cloud your judgement here. Our judicial system is one of the best in the world. Looking at the law, points to prove, motive, intent etc murder was always an aspirational verdict in this particular case. Let’s not forget they’ve been convicted of a homocide

@NeilCross5 Im not really just referring to this case. There are many that disappoint. I think trial by jury needs reform or review at least. Sentencing is a mess. Agreed murder was a big ask ( but in truth i suspect it was that). But I very little faith that sentencing will be harsh here.

@DonnaDlm71 @NormanBrennan I work in the courts and the Juror system is not broken. I have only seen one questionable decision in my time in court. Its possible the CPS in half accepting the manslaugher plea by one defendant prior to the trial, opened the door eventually to Manslaughter verdicts

@DonnaDlm71 The jury system is so unpredictable. I’ve seen dead cert guilty cases go not guilty and even the defence can’t understand what happened!

@DonnaDlm71 The idea is right but the emotions and prejudice of a Jury together with a failure to understand the detail of law has diminished the value Maybe it is time to increase the use of stipendary magistrates and a revamp of Crown Court proceedings

@DonnaDlm71 I’ve never had faith in our justice system , we’re way too weak and lenient . More so for the serious crimes. Life should me life , not 10/15 yrs for example. Tougher sentences could be a deterrent, like many other countries

@DonnaDlm71 Lost faith in it years ago, needs a whole reshuffle from top to bottom, it’s needs someone to take it by the scruff of the neck and set guidelines where crimes are punished correctly without taking any bullshit
