It’s easy to get lost in the trade news, but don’t sleep on Toumani Camara joining Portland.
Along with solid rebounding and good forward skills, Camara has a nice stat profile and enters POR when they need forward depth.
Underrated winner of today 📈
Some initial Summer League thoughts (trying to avoid initial overreaction):
-Kai Jones being an NBA player is likely over
-Not great debut from Brandon Miller but nothing I don’t see not improving early
-Liking what I see from Amari Bailey
-Julian Champagnie = DAWG

-Dom Barlow 📈
-Hornets should seriously consider shuffling their SL staff, once again looking unprepared and undisciplined early
-Rust as expected from Holmgren, but so excited for him this season
-Tre Mann was solid
-JDub is wayyyy too good for SL
-Keyonte George 📈
Bilal Coulibaly was AWESOME today! 🔥
20 PTS | 7 REB | 3 AST | 4 STL
66.7% FG | 4-7 3PT
He was everywhere both ways and looking more and more comfortable and aggressive. Amazing game to build on and so excited about his early growth. 📈📈📈

Bilal Coulibaly is coming along so fast that it’s making my head spin. He’s already at 14 PTS, 5 REB, 1 STL, 1 BLK and 2 3s with 7 min left in the 3rd and this is his 6th straight game of 10+ PTS.
Just absurd potential. It’s exciting to think of where he’ll be in a few years.

Really liked what I saw defensively, he’s got some real tools at his disposal. He’s still got a ways to go but I expect to see him clean up the fouls and expand the offense. Great toolkit for him to be something and love that SA gave him a guaranteed contract.

I’m all over EJ Liddell back with the Pels a year after tearing his ACL. Looks so comfortable out there and already making some winning plays. Dude’s going to be firmly in the rotation this season.
I haven’t seen enough people mentioning Toumani Camara’s priority in Portland’s rotation through the first few games.
Subbed early into POR-LAC and had 15 min, then played 22 in POR-ORL. Played over Jabari Walker/Kris Murray in both and played more than Timelord tonight.

It’s an obvious observation but needs to be said: Bilal Coulibaly has grown so much already this season, even from now to his 1st game. Him even a calendar year ago to now is wild to see.
He’s got really special potential. I’m loving every second he’s playing and improving.
Portland Trail Blazers rookie Scoot Henderson has been getting better and better this December, and just came up with his best game yet.
35 MIN | 23 PTS | 2 REB | 10 AST | 1 STL
4 TO | 9-21 FG | 2-7 3PT | 3-3 FT
Bit by bit, he’s showing why many see superstar potential in him.
(3/?)
-Ochai looks nice as well, expecting him to start a lot
-Jaime Jaquez Jr. = DAWG and needs to stay with MIA even if Dame comes
-Nikola Jovic 📈, expecting way more mins this season if he stays
-Max Christie 📈
-Don’t sleep on Colin Castleton
-Liked what I saw from JHS
After seeing Devin Vassell tear it up in scrimmage, I hope everyone bought their dynasty shares now. Prying him after this week is gonna be tough.
Wemby isn’t the only budding star in San Antonio 🤩
Keyonte George has had a fantastic December, coming off a career-high 30 points last night vs. OKC. He’s really solidified his place in Utah.
So far in December (4 GP), he’s averaging:
18.3 PTS | 3.3 REB | 6.8 AST | 0.5 STL
3.3 TO | 42.9% FG | 30.8% 3PT | 70.8% FT
📈📈📈
Pretty wild stuff in the Bradley Beal WAS-PHO trade today widespread impact.
I’ll have my article delving more into the trade out Monday. My initial thoughts:
PHO contending 📈
WAS rebuild 📈
Beal dynasty value❔
Deni Avdija 📈📈
Jordan Goodwin 📈📈
7th pick 📈
Trade market 📈
-Keegan Murray = DAWG, way too good for SL and looks bigger, strong sophomore season coming
-Colby Jones will be a consistent rotation piece
-Shot didn’t fall last night, but intrigued how Kessler Edwards does in a busier rotation this season
END OF THREAD
Question for the dynasty basketball owners with rookie drafts already happening or coming up. Just something I’m curious about:
1. At what pick did GG Jackson go?
2. If you haven’t drafted yet, around what pick would you take him or could justify taking him?

How’s everyone feeling about them so far?
Check out the April 2023 ranks:
If there’s one thing to take away from Bilal Coulibaly’s debut, it’s that he’s going to be an elite defender at the NBA level.
20 MIN | 5 PTS | 6 REB | 3 AST | 3 STL | 1 BLK | 2-4 FG | 0-1 3PT | 1-2 FT
Sky’s the limit for the Wizards rookie 📈📈📈
-Nice early stuff from GG Jackson, expecting more mins as SL progresses
-Terquavion Smith 📈
-Ricky Council IV 📈
-Can Jaden Springer finally get more reg. season burn?
-Brandin Podziemski really impressed me, 12/6/6 on 44% from field, 📈
-Lester Quinones 📈📈📈
Update: 2024 Draft big board 2.0 out tomorrow! Top 60 players (with some UDFAs b/c I’m indecisive), pro comps and info/summaries on players.
Planning to have a dynasty trade-centered article out this weekend, and a new dynasty rankings update after Christmas.
Stay tuned!
Brandin Podziemski is becoming such a valuable player to GSW’s present and future. It’s crazy how quickly he’s come along and begun flashing such a well-rounded game.
20 PTS | 11 REB (5 OREB) ❗️| 5 AST
1 STL | 9 - 14 FG | 2-4 3PT
Big, big value fantasy and IRL guy.

Roster cut deadlines in dynasty are always exercises in futility (especially deep leagues). No matter how much you try to trade off the end of bench pieces or roster cloggers too valuable to cut or consolidate, you’ll eventually have to cut decent stuff.
Jordan Nwora with yet another strong game in a growing role:
18pts/5reb/1ast/2stl/1blk | 7-12 FG | 2-6 3PT
Since joining the Pacers:
11.2pts/3.6reb/2ast/0.8stl/0.3blk 47.6% FG | 36.1% 3PT
Pacers got 3 2nds and Nwora for FREE 📈📈📈
Finally happened, and the 76ers got a better haul than I anticipated. My feeling on this currently:
Maxey 📈📈
Melton 📈
KMJ 📈
Kobe Brown 📈
Tobi: ↔️
Paul Reed: TBD
Kawhi/PG/Harden: slight 📉
LAC backcourt depth (Westbrook, Mann, Bones, Powell) 📉
BREAKING: The Philadelphia 76ers are trading James Harden and PJ Tucker to the Los Angeles Clippers for Nicolas Batum, Marcus Morris, Robert Covington and KJ Martin, and draft picks, sources tell
@TheAthletic
@Stadium

The Coby White breakout makes so much sense when you look at how much of a great teammate with willingness to grow he’s been every step of the way. He’s becoming a leader on and off the court and it’s awesome to see.
Coby White on Patrick Williams, who shot 50% from three over the last 10 games: “You give your all to the game, it’ll always love you back. He puts in the time and effort every day. Even when they try to kick him out the gym, he’ll just sneak back in at night.”
Brutal news for Denver, losing a good veteran rotation player. These injuries always suck.
DEN is down a few key depth pieces having lost Bruce Brown and Jeff Green to FA. Huge opportunity and need for the young guys (Peyton Watson, Hunter Tyson, Julian Strawther) to step up.
Great game from Johnny Davis again!
20 PTS (career high) | 5 REB | 4 AST | 2 STL | 2 BLK
9-17 FG | 2-5 3PT
Some awesome growth and confidence from Davis recently 📈 Any predictions for Year 2?

A few small thoughts from last night:
-Very little from DEN rookies, but really liked Braun/Watson; DEN still looks solid w/o Brown
-Moses Moody📈
-Nurkic fit looked great
-KBD DNP? 🤔
-AD???
-LBJ mins will be interesting ROS
-Point Booker📈
-Hoping to see more from Max Lewis
-David Roddy looks like the starting SF for Memphis early on, really liked what I saw
-Jake LaRavia looks much better on D, shot didn’t fall last night but intrigued about how he does in all of SL
-Vince Williams Jr. = real rotation option?
Lot of hype for Obi Toppin, but can he secure the starting PF spot over Jarace Walker? I’m not 100% sure yet, but it’s clear they’ll both be playing a lot. Obi is a beast in transition, and the Pacers are very fast break heavy.
My starting prediction: ~13-14 PPG, ~6-7 REB, 2 AST
For dynasty managers doing startups in the past few weeks: who/where were your best value picks (i.e. falling below expected value. taken before breakout, under the radar, etc.)?
Two of mine so far:
-Josh Richardson (14.17/329th)
-Trayce Jackson-Davis: 40th (rookie draft)
The first of many of my mock drafts has arrived! Check out the first edition of the Dizzle Dynasty Draft Board and see where I’ve slotted all the players in the 2023 NBA Draft. Follow for more in the coming months. Thank you all for the support!
Woke up today thinking about Kobe Brown’s electric 35-point game in Summer League.
Still not sure if LAC makes moves before the season opens, but I’m still very high on him for dynasty. He’s going to be a very good player who can handle a legit role.
I have some absurd Jordan Goodwin takes I’m too afraid to publicly share (yet), but it’s great to see his rep going up. He’s a darn good ball player and literally every contender needs legit pieces like him to go the distance.
Interesting Spurs fact: Malaki Branham (613) has only scored one less point than Jeremy Sochan (614) this season, despite 25 less starts.
The future’s real bright in San Antonio. Really love both and believe in them long-term. 📈📈📈
Literally everything that’s been said about Paul Reed this offseason is amazing news for him. I hope everyone’s already bought up as many shares as they can carry.
Nick Nurse opens up on expectations for Paul Reed with the Sixers this year on the
@PatBevPod
“Will he play with Embiid? For sure. Like I don’t think that that’s a question…He’s gonna be probably doing more than he’s done before.”
Out the Mud 😤
Is it a reach to say Coby White might have one of the best contracts in the NBA now? It has to be the best since Jalen Brunson’s, surely.
Since 11/30:
26.1 PTS | 6.1 REB | 6.7 AST | 0.9 AST
1.9 TOV | 49.6% FG | 50.7% 3PT (5 3PTM!) | 78.8% FT
Insanity. My frontrunner for MIP.
Love this for Porter. He’s been playing so well in a rising role where he looks comfortable and is getting better. Not only does is he part of Cleveland present, but he’s making a legit case for the long-term future.
He’s easily in the 23 class’s top 15 rookies at the moment.
When the team gets closer to fully healthy,
#Cavs
head coach J.B. Bickerstaff said Craig Porter Jr.* has earned the opportunity to be a permanent part of Cleveland’s rotation.
Lots of thoughts from LAL-GSW, but Trayce Jackson-Davis is one player that needs to be highlighted. Thought his motor, defensive presence and BBIQ looked excellent (1 REB, 1 AST, 2 BLK, 2 STL). Hoping to see him get involved often this season for GSW.
Do I even need to state the obvious that Peyton Watson is a 100% dynasty must-have going forward? Sheesh, what an impressive game from him.
20 MIN | 8 PTS | 5 REB | 3 BLK✋
4-6 FG
It’s so crazy to me that Minnesota got two insane steals in both Josh Minott and Leonard Miller and they’re still both under 21 playing as well as they have.
So excited for both of them to earn regular roles. Their potential individually and together in rotations is absurd.
Josh Minott had himself a game tonight!
32 MIN | 23 PTS | 6 REB | 6 AST | 3 BLK
9-15 FG | 5-6 FT
He’s one of my top risers I absolutely love for dynasty and see a lot of potential in. Hoping for a growing role in Year 2 📈📈📈
Nice day to watch some ball again, and this was an interesting look at both teams.
Some takeaways (thread ⬇️)
Green > OMax to start, but OMax showed promise
Hardy looked good, should play good mins all season
Lively and Holmes should be getting majority of the C minutes
⬇️
My August update for the 2023 dynasty rookie ranks is live! Check out the new spots after learning more about the rookies in the last few months and Summer league 👇
ICYMI: Coby White is SKYROCKETING between his hot streak, LaVine’s injury and a looming rebuild.
His last 9 games:
20.7 PPG | 4.4 REB | 4.6 AST | 0.6 STL
47.3% FG | 49.4% 3PT (4.7 3PT/9.4 3PTA) 🔥 | 90.9% FT
He’s fully here after his big strides late last season. 🚀🚀🚀
Wizards’ Deni Avdija does it AGAIN, scoring a career high 25pts in a 130-111 W vs. the Celtics.
25 PTS | 10 REB | 5 AST | 1 STL
10-16 FG | 2-5 3PT | 3-5 FT
In his last 5 starts:
18.4PTS | 9.6REB | 5.4AST | 1 STL
63.8 FG% | 47.6 3PT% | 53.3%
🔥🔥🔥
Small takeaway from the big game Ja had, but Vince Williams Jr. has really impressed me with his recent play, and he looked even better next to Ja tonight.
Big rebounding, high energy on both sides, hit some nice shots and played solid defense. He’s really earned his spot.
Hey folks! Really appreciate the love for yesterday’s mock. Wanted to preview a few things I got coming out soon:
WED: Sophomore season breakouts
FRI: Best undrafted players 1.0 (re: 1.0 mock)
SUN: New Dynasty Deep Dive
NEXT WEEK: New dynasty specific series! 👀
Don’t think I’m telling people anything they don’t already know, but…
Scoot Henderson will be fine. Rookie PGs often take time and it’s a rebuild. Hold tight in dynasty, try to buy low if possible. He’s almost a drop for shallow redraft though.
With the Cavs being shorthanded, Craig Porter Jr. stepped up and got some nice action last night vs NYK.
22 MIN | 10 PTS | 4 REB | 2 AST | 2 STL | 1 BLK | 5-12 FG
He had a nice defensive impact that I saw lots of at Wichita State. Keep an eye on him!
Drafting a college ball league organized by
@NoahRubin22
with some analysts. Follow my ongoing thread of picks!
1.03: F/C Hunter Dickinson, Kansas
Do I even need to explain? Super well-rounded cats, dominant at Michigan and the crown jewel of transfers. He’s in for a big year!
@DraftFanatics
Certainly looks like it. Without trying to overreact after one game, Bailey legitimately showed me enough to believe he has a step up on Bouk. I think both him and Kai are likely done.
I’m very excited for Wemby on the Spurs but I’m actually just as excited for people to find out how good Devin Vassell is. Not being among the top 125 players is outrageous.
WOW! Huge deal and ramifications, especially depending on the picks Toronto receives. I think there’s a good chance Toronto ends up as long-term winners if they keep Quickley, but I’m pretty intrigued for both sides. Great to see a big splash here in December.
Don’t look now, but Patrick Williams is starting to improve from his cold start.
His last 6 games:
31.2 MPG | 13.6 PPG | 4.8 REB | 1.3 AST | 1 STL | 0.8 BLK
52.5% FG | 41.7% 3PT | 66.7% FT
Should he remain a building block for the Bulls if the rebuild starts soon?

Hey folks! After posting my awards piece, here’s the upcoming Dizzle Dynasty schedule so you know what to watch for:
Sat: Best undrafted players 1.0 (slight delay from today, sorry!)
Sun: New Dynasty Deep Dive
Tues: New Dynasty Series! 👀
Next Week: Team Dynasty Analyses!
First 2023 Dizzle Dynasty mock draft will be out tomorrow! 🤩
Along with my mock, I’ve got a few things I’m cooking up for next week to kick off offseason/playoffs. With that, expect plenty of regular offseason content to stay locked in. Very excited to show you guys!
I’ve mentioned him a good bit, but if the Pelicans’ injuries (TM3, Alvarado, Nance, Marshall) hasn’t made it clear, EJ Liddell should be rostered if he’s available in dynasty (~250+ rostered).
Should get early burn between injuries and his solid play. Eager to see more of him.
Really dope outing from Mamu tonight. Been a fan since Seton Hall but Spurs may be unlocking something with his development right now. In just 12 minutes:
11pts/4reb/2ast
4-5 FG | 2-3 3PT
If his shooting keeps getting better with these games, woooof.
Love it! This actually might be the best landing spot possible for TyTy, with a team that needs both youth and backup PGs. Hard to say where TyTy’s at right now to really handle an NBA role, but I’m very interested from a dynasty perspective.
The Milwaukee Bucks are signing guard TyTy Washington Jr. on a two-way NBA contract, sources tell
@TheAthletic
@Stadium
. Washington was the No. 29 pick in the 2022 NBA draft.

Craig Porter Jr. bag holders, STAND UP!
24 MIN | 21 PTS | 4 REB | 4 AST | 2 STL
1 BLK | 7-10 FG | 7-7 FT
CPJ came up huge in a W over the Nuggets, helping Cleveland move to 7-6 with Donovan Mitchell absent. Cavs really found a good one 📈📈📈
Want to get up to speed on Summer League and who you should be watching? Check out my Summer League Preview where I discuss Wemby, Scoot, Chet and some of my favorite sleepers.
It came in a blowout, but I liked seeing Hawks wing Seth Lundy make his NBA debut and get his first bucket. Hope we see more of him. He’s looked good in the G League (11 GP):
31.5 MIN | 17.9 PTS | 5.5 REB | 1.5 AST
0.9 STL | 1.2 BLK | 42.2% FG | 39.8% 3PT (3.5 3PTM) | 76.7% FT
Breaking: Celtics, Wizards, Clippers are closing in on a trade sending Kristaps Porzingis to Boston, Malcolm Brogdon to L.A., and Marcus Morris and draft compensation to Washington, sources tell
@TheAthletic
@Stadium
.
Golden State is making a change: Andrew Wiggins to the bench; Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Brandin Podziemski, Jonathan Kuminga and Kevon Looney start tonight vs. Clippers, sources tell me and
@anthonyVslater
.
More silly season fun from the Hornets:
Svi Mykhailiuk: 26PTS/4REB/5AST/2STL
Theo Maledon: 8PTS/8REB/14AST/1BLK
Mark Williams: 15PTS/12REB
James Bouknight: 21PTS2REB/1AST
Kai Jones: 10PTS/5REB/2AST/1STL/3BLK
Uhhhh…
Interesting destination and a good deal for Utah to buy for cheap to rehab value, but I have questions.
1. How does he even fit with Lauri, Hendricks and Kessler?
2. Does he come off the bench or does Hendricks?
3. Who plays the 3?
4. Does Sensabaugh play the 2 now?
ESPN Sources: The Hawks are finalizing a trade to send F/C John Collins to the Jazz for Rudy Gay and a future second-round pick. Atlanta’s largely unloading Collins’ three years, $78M for some roster building flexibility and alignment with looming changes to salary cap.
I get the decision considering what they have with Ja Morant returning and wanting to keep Biyombo and others, but still doesn’t feel great for being the G League ROY last season and nothing much from their recent picks.
He’ll definitely get picked up by another team.
MIN:
NAW! He looked very good out there; watching his role closely
Shake Milton should be a great 2nd unit player
Liking what Troy Brown showed, he cleaned the glass well w/ Reid (7 REB + 2 3s!)
Still loving Minott and Miller - key future pieces and dynasty investments
What an awesome story Dante Exum has been this season. Grinded overseas, impressed in FIBA, returned to the NBA and is thriving after being thrust into the starting lineup.
As a starter (4 GP):
17.5 PTS | 5 REB | 5.8 AST | 1.3 STL | 0.5 BLK | 1.3 TO
55.6% FG | 55% 3PT | 75% FT
It’s always nice to see UDFAs get to shine, and Vince Williams looks like a legitimate piece for the struggling Grizzlies right now.
27 MIN | 10 PTS | 7 REB | 1 AST | 1 STL
2-5 FG | 2-4 3PT | 4-6 FT
Should he continue getting a big share of wing minutes when the team is 100%?
Wanted to make sure I mentioned this since Cooks was someone I liked as a mini breakout guy. Hate to see this since I like Cooks and he’s been very successful in the NBL.
I think contenders should absolutely be giving him looks. He’s 100% an NBA-level rotation player.
The Washington Wizards have waived Xavier Cooks and Taj Gibson, a league source told
@TheAthleticNBA
. The Wizards had to waive two players to reach the 15-man roster limit.
An expected move, but a shame to see TyTy still looking for a home after being traded. I still buy his potential and I think he’ll be a priority pickup for someone likely on a two-way contract.
Nice to see Amen’s form getting a lot better and smoother. Still a work in progress especially in full game speed, but you can clearly see the work he’s put in. 🔥
Just when I thought I was close to being out on Moses Moody for dynasty ball, he’s arguably been GSW’s 4th, possibly even 3rd, best player this season. Give him more minutes!
17.3 MPG | 7.5 PTS | 2.9 REB | 1.2 AST
1 STL | 46.2% FG | 36.4% 3PT | 71.4% FT
📈📈📈
It’s dope seeing Craig Porter Jr. really thriving with the Cavs in his 1st ever start. So far in early 3rd quarter:
12 PTS | 1 REB | 3 AST | 2 BLK
5-6 FG | 1-2 3PT | 1-2 FT
Cleveland really found a crucial piece. Get him if you can still take him!
5.07/87: Jarace Walker
Though my team is built to win now, I simply couldn’t pass on Walker well below where I have him ranked. He can be a potential building block and someone who can help me win right now still, and I trust he’s going to be a very, very good player.
KENNETH. LOFTON. JR.
42 PTS | 14 REB | 1 STL
17-25 FG | 0-2 3PT | 8-12 FT
It’s been a silly/rest game for the Grizzlies, but this immediately after Lofton signed a 4 year deal is not something to sleep on. Woooof.
Truly love the Poole deal for Washington. Solid young piece with a lot of talent after a down year/playoffs becoming a presumed 1st option in Poole, solid back of picks, moving off CP3’s contract and a pretty solid development project in Ryan Rollins.
THIS is how you rebuild!
Interesting… 👀
Deep dynasty folks, if you’re not already holding, it’s time.
This is a 2x EuroLeague Champ, 2x Finals MVP and 1x MVP coming into the NBA. Pretty good chance we’ll see him on a team by the end of the month - and making an impact immediately this season.
Vasilije Micic has traveled to Oklahoma City per

24 and 30-teamers are where I have the most fun honestly. The sicko stuff like bottom of the barrel waiver adds and minutiae trades and how serious hitting on picks can be makes it a lot of fun for the effort I put in!

Most realistic for this season: OMax, Brice Sensabaugh, Kobe Brown
If things break well for them based on FA: TJD, Kris Murray, Julian Strawther, Jalen Pickett
Career: Leonard Miller, Colby Jones, Noah Clowney, Tristan Vukcevic
