I’ve been through 2 natural disasters in Houston. While other shelves would be empty, the Jamaican aisle is always a saving grace. Got water crackers and an HTB bun. Perfect when their is no electricity. Been my dinner for two nights.

Just left my therapy session & I spent 45 minutes just crying. Hardly any talk, just a good cry. What did my therapist do? He allowed me to have that moment. If you’re struggling know that it’s okay to cry. It’s okay to break down. Have your moment. You don’t always have to be 💪🏾

I’ve been suffering from depression snd anxiety for several years. 3 years in I’m on 3 medications, one of which helps to sedate me when I get overly anxious. Plus I complete at least 1 session of therapy a week. I fight thoughts of suicide at least once every 2 weeks.

Lord I pray that I will never have to use emergency medical services in Jamaica. My niece had trouble breathing last night (she is asthmatic) and went to St. Ann’s Bay Hospital. Upon arriving they asked her to wait outside. 3 hours later she was told to seek treatment elsewhere.

Such a beautiful moment. Today my grandmother (to the right)got to reunite with her sister, both of whom were separated as children when my g-ma was forcibly taken from Honduras 🇭🇳 . She moved to 🇯🇲 not knowing English. She eventually learned the language and made Jamaica home.😭

Had the #colonoscopy procedure today. I can honestly say that the prep was the worst part. The prep was absolutely horrible. I got a clean bill of health from the doctor. As I was placed under anesthesia I drifted asleep thinking about daddy. I wondered how different things

God is good! I’m finally able to give a good report. 2 days ago my grandmother collapsed. It took 20 minutes for the doctors to revive her. She came back, but unable to talk. The tests indicated she had a stroke. Today she woke up, fully alert and talking! Thanks for the prayers.

This experience just showed me how lacking the care is at KPH, and while I understand that healthcare workers are extremely stretched thin at this point, is not an excuse for a patient to be denied adequate care. Security was called to kick me out of the hospital.
