π§΅8/21 EMA STRAT THREAD

π§΅OPTIONS STARTER PACK THREAD
Many turn to options trading for the massive potential upside, but end up losing money because they skipped the basics.
If youβre new to options trading, don't take another trade before you understand these 3 concepts:
Moving averages are one of the most common indicators people use to trade, and what I use for 70%+ of my own trades.
Heres why your moving average strategy isnβt working:

π§΅RISK MANAGEMENTπ§΅
You can have the best trading strategy in the world, but the determinant of how much money you make is how well you manage risk.
Here are 5 risk management principles I live by:
π¨How To Chart Fibsπ¨
Everyday we get asked how/where we chart our Fibonacci Retracement levels
Hereβs a quick guide I made to help:
β’Use daily chart to find range high & low
β’Plot high & low in chronological order
β’Use as intraday R/S with confluence
Hope this helps π€

This barely scratches the surface of hour fibs can be used in trading.
I encourage you to do some backtesting of your own, as people are often surprised by how accurate fibs can be.

@mandertrades
and I break down fibs more extensively would be useful.
$AAPL - the largest, most successful company of the last ten years - is preparing for economic uncertainty by slowing hiring & cutting costs.
But yeah your alt-coin investment will prob recover to all time highs soon.

Here are 20 trade recaps Iβve put out in the last couple months:

How can we identify trend days vs chop days?
1. Breadth
β’This one is simple. Make a watchlist of all 11 S&P sectors. When 9/11 are green or 9/11 are red, this is your first sign that theres momentum in the market in one direction or the other.
This was today, a trend day.
During
@Kane_Capital
bootcamp, we spoke with over 350 traders who were trying to improve their game.
Tomorrow Iβll share a thread on the 5 most common hurdles our new traders faced.
Trading other peoples alerts can be lucrative, but can also be dangerous if done recklessly.
Would a video breaking down how to trade alerts be helpful?
When youβre wrong, the best time to sell is at your predetermined stop loss.
The second best time to sell is right now.
Looking for additional levels of support and resistance once your passed your stop is how you turn a small loss into a massive one.
Hope is NOT a strategy.
Embrace the Bear Market.
Here are some of my favorite bearish setups weβve been seeing almost everyday since Jackson Hole.
As long as Powell is hell-bent on crushing demand to crush inflation, weβll like trade lower.
We might as well take advantage of it π€·πΎββοΈ

#ICT
concepts
In one of the first videos of 2022 mentorship, he says to look at previous trades you've taken and see if the concepts are present in your winning trades
Here are two recaps with my old strat vs. how I'd look at it now:
π§΅UW THREAD
I am always looking for additional conviction before entering trades.
@unusual_whales
is one of many tools I use to increase my conviction level on day trades, allowing me to feel confident about my entires & exits.
Here are a few examples from the past week:π
πΈ Trade Recap
$SPX 9/1 3960c (2:02pm)
Result: +1051% β
Multiple time-frame analysis:
β’ 5 min: ema crossover & retest + resistance break
β’ 30 min: break & hold of 10 sma on The System
β’ Daily: gap to fill to $3955, $SPY measure move target $390 hit & bouncing
4.) Time > Money
β’People get into trading for the money - this is the wrong way to think about it.
β’Making $200 a day may not sound sexy, but making $200 before 10:30am then spending the rest of the day as you choose? Most folks would kill for that
Thinking about doing a

You don't think I felt like s shmuck when I looked up 2 hours into the day, $SPY was up 5% from lows, and I had made $0?
Of course I did.
Did I cry about it? No.
I stuck in, waited for setups, & had one of my best days of the year.
There will always be another trade. Promise.

Been in my bag for a minute now . . .
Daily goal is 2% on port for reference. These are all within the past 6 trading days.
When I said I was going full time there was a lot of clowns in the comments.
Donβt worry tho, I got the receipts. π
Fibs can be used on any time frame.
Use the daily to find macro levels of support/resistance.
Use the hourly to find weekly levels of support/resistance.
Use the 5m to find intraday levels of support/resistance.
Its all about your looking for and your trading style.
Going to post a thread tomorrow detailing how I used
@unusual_whales
flow to add conviction to several trades from this past week.
Would a quick YouTube video visually demonstrating this information be useful?
Personally, I also use vwap in this process. 8ema > 21ema > vwap = bulls in control. 8ema < 21ema < vwap = bears in control. As a day trader, this helps me avoid trading against the trend.
πSome edu Iβve got in the works:

$AMD rips at open, pulls back to vwap / 90 support before ripping to HOD.
Cobmined VWAP strat with bullish flow from

5.) Study the Fed
β’When I started trading I was getting my BA in Econ. If I knew how much Fed policy impacted market direction, I wouldβve paid more attention
β’The single best indicator for where the market is going over the past two decades is Federal Reserve policy.
Building things (wealth, habits, relationships, muscles) is generally a long process.
Destroying things takes a fraction of the time.
Donβt underestimate you ability to fuck everything up.
