Name’s Dee-Pad as in the thing that’s on your controller lol.
I’m a geek, I talk simple geek stuff like video games, anime and what not that’s all there is to it lol.
Nintendo twitter on their way tomorrow to post an 8-player Smash pic of Steve, Banjo, Sans, Joker, Cloud, Mario, Sonic & Pac Man captioning “This is a real game.”
I want to appreciate the fact that they didn’t go for any memes when showing Knuckles.
He’s genuinely badass again and I can’t wait for the new Sonic fans/mainstream public to feel threatened by him instead of the walking Ugandan joke he’s been for a whole decade.
NFTs legit feel like a cartoon episode where one of the main characters come up with a get rich scheme so they market some ridiculous product that the townspeople are stupid enough to buy and fall for until it backfires at the end of the episode.
Except it’s real.
It’s sad how SpongeBob was the punching bag of cartoon reviewers for going downhill (it only got bad around 5-8) when’s it really been Fairly Odd Parents all this time.
The SpongeBob crew STILL cares after all these years, they clearly stopped giving a shit about FOP since Poof.
It's simultaneously so sad yet also really impressive how hard FOP fell off, to the point where you don't even need to explain how and why.
You just need to show off a single frame to encapsulate the Travesty
Cliche video game humor starter pack:
-Mario is high on mushrooms.
-Mario stomps on a goomba but it had a family and he’s a murderer.
-Link breaks into people’s houses.
-Link isn’t Zelda.
-Samus is a woman.
-Sonic games are bad/furry deviantart jokes.
-Pokémon is animal abuse.
-Defeat a frustrating and difficult boss but the MC brags how easy it was in the cutscene, as if you didn’t die multiple times prior.
-Unskippable cutscenes and text.
-When you have to grind but the enemies have low exp.
-Bullshit enemy/obstacle placement.
-Hr long tutorial.
You know it’s sad when a movie director and a celebrity cared more about the series’ lore and character development then the game writers did for the past 10 ten years.
This technically means Ratchet and Clank are the very last active mainstream Western platformer franchise.
-Banjo’s dead.
-Conker’s dead
-Jak’s dead.
-Sly’s dead.
-Rayman’s dead.
-Crash and Spyro are getting ditched.
Why do western studios hate platformers so fucking much?
If there’s one animated movie trope I’m SO glad the Sonic movie avoided, it’s the obligatory “sad/angry” argument scene with one character yelling and ranting at the other as they separate in the mid-climax, until they make up already.
It’s such a stupid forced attempt at drama.
It’s funny how Sonic’s movie redesign was so big, it garnered attention from various media.
Too bad all of them are just the same unfunny “You’re a time-wasting incel worrying about a kids movie instead of real world issues” potshots because fuck criticism I guess.
Unpopular animation opinion:
I’m starting to miss asshole/comically unsympathetic protagonists from the late 90s/2000s era of cartoons.
There’s just WAY too many nice, plucky and happy-go-lucky main characters in modern shows nowadays, it’s starting to reek of Spongebob cloning.
Omens being a controversial disaster and Frontiers as potentially well-received thanks to press from multiple expos and even winning an award is gonna be the biggest UNO reverse card to the whole “SONIC FANS MAKE BETTER GAMES THEN SONIC TEAM” mentality.
I still have no fucking clue why every Mario character in Smash except Yoshi, Daisy, Rosalina and Jr has an entirely different personality then their canon counterpart.
You wanna know what I REALLY miss about Nickelodeon? These.
How the cartoons used to have their own Nickelodeon branded symbol representing a element from their shows.
It’s kinda bizarre that inventor protagonists in animated films are always meant to be outcasts who everyone hates and see as an annoyance.
Like dude, how can you NOT wanna be friends with a guy with the intelligence to potentially build ANYTHING in the world?
Ngl, it kinda sucks that people overlook the actual character of Mickey Mouse and see him nothing more then a symbol of Disney’s corporate greed.
When literally every joke with him featured in some fan comic/art/animation is just “lol I’m an evil CEO” it gets pretty stale imo.
Me getting excited for the possible of 64 & Sunshine remakes, 3D Mario collections & N64/GC styled Paper Mario game
until I realize it’s almost April Fools.
I imagine there’s several reasons why Sonic 06’s hate was so utterly venomous compared to how “bad games” are viewed today.
-2000s xenophobia towards Japanese games (specifically 06’s story)
-AVGN clones were on the rise.
-Blatantly unfinished games were VERY rare back then.
It’s funny how this game was seen as one of the worst of all time cause of how broken it was but today so many games launch in a similar bricked state this almost seems tame now
-Coronavirus becoming a global pandemic
-Tokyo Olympics possibly canned
-Kobe Bryant and his daughter dies
-WW3 fear mongering
-Tom Hanks tested for the virus
-E3 2020 cancelled
-Australia fires
-NBA cancels seasons
3 months and this year is already a giant pile of shit.
Yeah, let’s make and keep this as the ideal human style in Sonic.
No SA2/06 realism or the overly modern Disney influence in Unleashed, Uekawa/Oshima style all the way.
It’s time for a REAL debate club: Which early 2000s sports spin-off had the better character designs and aesthetic?
Mario’s Strikers or Sonic’s Riders? Pick your pill.
It’s kinda weird that Sonic never actually had an official signature catchphrase like Mario’s “It’s-a-Me”.
I always thought the closest he had was “I’m Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog!”
The funny thing is that these IDW/Prime characterization debates would never even exist if SEGA didn’t decide to “unify Sonic canon” which is absolutely idiotic.
Imagine if they did that in 1993 and people on message boards argued if these two were the same character.
I’ll accept Wreck It Ralph 3 under these conditions.
-The theme is console gaming this time.
-Ralph reverts back to his personality from the first film and isn’t a clingy dimwitted man baby.
-It doesn’t focus on Vanellope like the last two films.
-Mario FINALLY gets his cameo.
@DiscussingFilm
Maybe because I expected Lightyear to be a fun action sci-fi adventure with colorful aliens.
Instead I got a boring film with a dull setting, forgettable characters and didn’t feel like a 90s film Andy would watch as a kid, more like a modern reboot he’d hate in college.

Jim Ryan on the future of PlayStation Studios.
"These third person, graphically beautiful narrative rich games will continue to be the bedrock of our first party publishing business."
When WoL was first announced, I still remember the absolute LEGION of Nintendo fans who’d prevent any kind of spoilers if it mean harassing YouTubers and straight up sending apology letters to Sakurai.
Today, it seems like most can agree this mode was a pile of dogshit.
“I say I say Iida, I don’t give em’ hoots about tem’ rules, dat boy Bakugo is still our classmate and I reckon we go give those league o’ villains a hankerin of a beat down and get him back to good ol’ UA, we ain’t callin ourselves heroes for nothin son!”
Please just don’t let the next Smash trailer be another:
>”WOAH I GOT INVITED TO JOIN SMASH BROS!!”
>Look at all these pro fighters, but they’re no joke!”
>”Uh oh, I’m getting owned!”
>”Time to try out my moves! Take this and that!”
>Anime voices talking over the gameplay.
I think about the fact that Sonic once had a unique and creative take on a racing spin-off series with a Y2K futuristic techno aesthetic until SEGA decided to experiment with Microsoft’s shitty gimmick killing it off for good and reverting Sonic back into a generic kart racer.
