Nature has fractals. Cauliflower or broccoli are fractal patterns -- the small parts greatly resemble the whole. Our psyches are the same - the small events in childhood create patterns and we replay or re-experience the same patterns in our bigger adult lives.

Neuroscientists have known this for 20 years yet traders still say "take the emotion out of it" and "control your emotion". It's CONTROL THE ACTION by analyzing and understanding the various feelings and emotions (degrees of intensity of visceral intelligence).

A simple thing to remember in the realm of trading+investing psychology is that u decide based on your confidence, conviction (or impulsive fears.) It seems like u decide on the data. U don't. Analyze your feelings about the data and u have an edge.

Stops in trading should be where your prediction is clearly wrong. It might be price and it might be time but know that first and if it happens, exit despite the fears of what will happen next. I know it’s easier said than done, but if u remove your self-narrative it gets easier.

Being afraid to have, feel and know your feelings is a competitive disadvantage. We've seen this particularly with pro athletes who think they need to be positive and optimistic all of the time. (Cause they are advised as such.) It's a myth - and a dangerous one at that.

Want to get better...be your own best friend. What do I mean? Listen with empathy to ALL of your thoughts and ALL of your feelings. Don't judge, just try to understand. And if you don't understand, keep trying. Understand your own personal contexts and be gentle with yourself.
