I can't even put into words the magic of this moment. We just beat the most "talented" team in the nation, the greatest coach ever, with a bunch of 3-stars and early enrollees.
The only team in the ACC without a single Top 100 recruit on the roster.
Virginia Tech.
ACC Champs.
Virginia Tech has defeated the University of Virginia in the last game/match of football, men’s basketball, men’s soccer, softball, volleyball, men’s track and field, men’s swim and dive, wrestling, and lacrosse.
Since 2014 there have been 540 teams that started conference play 2-7 or worse.
Virginia Tech is the first one to finish with a winning conference record.

game: "After this game versus Tech, after we beat Virginia Tech, this program is going to shoot up and everyone in the country is going to know about us."
Under-the-radar stat: since Mike Young came to Blacksburg, Virginia Tech has not had a single starter miss a game due to injury. Four years, 101 games, 505 total starts, zero missed due to injury.
S/O strength coach David Jackson 🐐🐐🐐
Didn't notice this live but Bayshal Tuuten took out two blitzing LBs on the same play. Set up the big pass to Lane and later the Jennings TD.
Dog behavior.
At this point it is clear Nick Saban is no longer fit to lead the Alabama program.
He needs to resign and go to Virginia Tech to prove he can be a quality football coach again.
Putting things in perspective.
Of the 42 conference tournament champions over the last 8 years VT is the only without a Top 100 recruit, and the lowest team composite recruiting rating.
We will not see anything like this for quite some time. Mike Young is just 🅱️uilt different.
I really feel bad for our fans. Just seeing the crowd tonight, we have such a passionate fan base, more so than maybe anyone in this league but the team can’t come through for em. There’s such a huge discrepancy in the expectations of the fan base vs the product on field.
Hokie fans knowing they was gifted a win by acc refs today and realizing they will not be attending in bowl season weekend festivities again this year due to being 3-8 😂💯

Far be it from to get "sentimental" on this app but I'm gonna miss watching Tré ball. Dude lost the WR coach that recruited him, had 7 different QBs, and played in an offense that threw the ball 15x a game at peak efficiency. Never transferred.
Tré is all Hokie and I respect it.
Virginia Tech WR Tre Turner confirms that Saturday will be his final regular season game as a Hokie, he’s hinted about it on social media, and accepted Senior Bowl invite, but he confirmed that he’s headed to NFL and shared some insight into why, story later today
I know the VT coaches haven't been perfect but people are way overreacting IMO. We're down a bunch of dudes in year 2 of a rebuild. First career start for Drones, he looked good. You get the QB right you'll be fine. Just surround him with the dogs.
I am definitely NOT giving up on Brent Pry and staff after one bad game. I just think VT fans should understand these guys aren't miracle workers. The "coach 'em up" stuff is cute, but you gotta recruit dogs to win, and then develop them, and that takes time. Just is what it is.
Every Virginia Tech fan needs to be appreciate the job this coaching staff has done recruiting skill. There are many teams longer and more athletic than us but few more skilled. I can assure you we are spoiled in that regard.
Absolute Mike Young clinic tonight.
JMU is proof that having an athletic department with a vision for football is all it takes to build a winner. Credit to them, they are unironically the best team in VA.
YOU WILL OPEN UP THE VERTICAL PASSING GAME TOMORROW, YOU WILL PLAY AGGRESSIVE WITH A LEAD, YOU WILL NOT CURL UP INTO A SHELL IN THE THIRD QUARTER
@HokiesFB
I am not going to blame Brent Pry for this loss. This is a long rebuild.
But good lord is this program in the mud rn. Another embarrassing loss to a G5 program in a stadium without a functional elevator. This hurts.

Last 3 years:
🟠 76-19 (.800), best in the ACC
🟠 45-12 in conference, best in the ACC
🟠 Ranked for 40 straight weeks
Him. 🐐
We put this dude in such a bad spot man. Had to follow one of the greatest D coordinators of all time when he had almost no experience, and coaching for a staff that was on its last legs.
Clearly JHam loves VT, but it was just terrible timing. Wish him all the best going forward
I have no friends. I have no girlfriend. I have no job. I have no money. I have no hobbies. I have no home. All I have is Hunter Cattoor. When I needed something, Hunter was there for me. Hunter is my life, my passion, and my faith. I love Hunter Cattoor.
the thought of Virginia Tech being in some SEC super conference genuinely makes me glow. I don't care if we lose to LSU by 40. I would legitimately rather watch Justin Jefferson Jr. griddy all over our ass than see Duke in Lane ever again
What a story.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker was unranked coming out of HS. After taking out student loans and receiving a small cash stipend, he walked on at Virginia Tech before landing in the G-League.
Now he's a key contributor for the Timberwolves.
Never give up on your dreams!
I'm not even kidding this is an actual masterclass from Brent Pry. I know BC sucks but the way our defense flies to the ball and tackles is so much better than it has been the last few years.
