38 yrs ago today my Dad called and asked if I had taken courses as undergrad and then read off a list. Said yes and he replied “congratulations you’ve been accepted to Wayne State med school”. He’d opened my acceptance letter for me. Crazy journey - but wouldn’t change a thing.

I love a good laparoscopic appy, chole or splenectomy (my fav) but I'm old-fashioned with inguinal hernias. Last week, did a mesh repair with PGY-2, done under local/sedation for pt with BMI =27 and both indirect and direct hernias. 75 mins, skin incision measured at 4cm....
